Formula 1 might use August as an opportunity to recharge the batteries, but MotoGP bounced back into life with races in the Czech Republic, Austria and Britain. The new 2019/20 World Endurance Championship season kicked off at Silverstone, and both MotoGP and Formula 1 announce their provisional 2020 race schedules. Get up to speed on all our latest news and developments here.
It might have been all-quiet on the Formula 1 front, but MotoGP arrived back with three action-packed instalments throughout August. Great races at Austria and Britain, saw title rivals Andrea Dovizioso and Marc Marquez duke it out in Austria, with Dovizioso's last minute dive down the inside, on the last lap, giving him the victory. Silverstone saw Alex Rins take the fight to Marquez. After a race long tussle, it was Rins who got the better of Marquez to take victory by just 0.013 seconds. Overall Marquez extended his championship lead and with a 78-point advantage and only seven races still to go, can he be reined in? All eyes will be on Misano.

Looking forward to this month
September started in a sombre mood, with the tragic news of the passing of up-and-coming young driver, Anthoine Hubert following an accident during the F2 feature race at Spa Francochamps last weekend. Our thoughts and condolences from everyone at Motorsport Live, bookf1, and the wider Motorsport Network are with Hubert's family, friends, and the wider motorsport community.
Hot off the heels of Formula 1s return at Spa, the season rolls into Monza this weekend, before the start of the fly-away leg of the season and races in Singapore and Russia. MotoGP also visits Italy next for the San Marino GP, before moving to Aragon. If you are going to any of these races be sure to share your pics with us on social media. We love to see and hear from all our customers on race weekend. Be sure to use the hashtag #MotorsportLive whenever you post.
