RACE WEEKEND TRAVEL & PARKING
Getting to Silverstone Circuit
Getting to Silverstone Circuit
Parking passes or Park and Ride must be booked in advance, to avoid a fixed penalty parking fine. Parking is only available to valid circuit entry ticket-holders and vehicles are not permitted to stay in parking areas overnight.
Official circuit parking is located on the Luffield and Abbey side of the circuit. Motorbikes park free at the circuit over the entire weekend and do not need parking passes. Parking passes for the independently run Whittlebury car park are located near Copse and Becketts and may be preferable for some customers.
Park and Ride allows you to park at a designated car park off the M1 (Junction 15a) or the M40 (Junction 10 and 11) and take the shuttle bus to the circuit. Please note: Park and Ride has a charge per vehicle parking pass (the shuttle bus is free). Please select the number of vehicle parking passes required (not the number of people) and a shuttle bus pass will automatically be provided for each entry ticket you have.
Disabled car parks are available but require an alternative parking pass that must be reserved in advance, so please contact us to book this. If you require disabled parking, the best grandstands to consider are Luffield, Abbey or Becketts, as these are closest to the disabled parking areas.
bookf1.com will be offering Megabus Grand Prix coach services running from a number of pick-up points to Silverstone. We expect these to be available to book shortly.
A taxi drop-off/pick-up point is located in car park 25 behind the Silverstone UTC. Please be aware that taxis will need to follow a very specific route, entering Silverstone Village from the north, to avoid getting caught in the A43 one-way system and being forced into the circuit parking - check your driver understands the route in advance.
Alternatively, taxis can drive into the circuit but because the A43 road is redirected as a one-way, you will need to book the taxi for the full day and buy car parking.
We recommend booking return journeys in advance to avoid long waits on the day.
Public train services run to Northampton and Milton Keynes train stations. From both stations, Stagecoach are operating shuttle buses to the circuit each day. These bus services will run at regular intervals and will be payable on the day.
On Sunday only, Virgin Trains will be operating combined F1 train and shuttle services from London Euston and Birmingham New Street to Silverstone Circuit. Trains will depart from London Euston and arrive in Milton Keynes Central approximately 45 minutes later, where there will be buses to take you to Silverstone. The shuttle service between Milton Keynes Central and Silverstone takes approximately 30 minutes (subject to traffic) and drops-off at Car Park 49 located near the main entrance.
Tickets include a return train and shuttle bus service and must be purchased in advance. Train times are as follows (subject to change by Virgin Trains):
Your return journey will be for the listed time from MK Central to London Euston. Return shuttle buses from Silverstone also depart from Car Park 49 and will run regularly from 16:15 until 18:00.
Helicopter transfers are a great way to enter the circuit and avoid the traffic. Due to air-traffic limitations, only twin engine helicopters are permitted to land at the Silverstone Heliport over race weekend. Chartered twin engine helicopters are available from a variety of locations across the UK. Please contact us for more information on this.
If you are camping or staying close to the circuit then it may be possible to walk to the circuit. Check with your accommodation provider for possible routes.
