DESTINATION & TOURISM

Key Facts, International Travel, and Things to Do

    Background

The Red Bull ring is located in the lush green meadows and rolling hills in the Styria region of Austria. Deep into the Austrian mountains, you will find beautiful forests and breathtaking lakes, with so much to offer lovers of the outdoors, hiking and more!

We suggest pulling your hiking boots on and heading for the surrounding hillscapes of Speilberg. Amongst the hillside there is the Tremmelberg watchtower; from here you can see uninhibited view of the spectacular scenery. Alternatively, the Ingeringsee and Sackwiesen, idyllic lakes framed by the mountains is a great place to unwind and take in all the natural splendour.

For those looking for a more cosmopolitan adventure, head over to the nearby city of Graz. Traditional Austrian architecture is combined with bold, modern buildings and bridges. The historic old town has been designated a World Heritage site, and don't miss the Glockenspiel - a clock that comes alive with song and rotating dancing figurines every day on precise hours. Don't miss the double spiral staircase in the Burg castle, a masterpiece of design and genius. The newest buildings, like the daring Kunsthaus (Art Museum) will leave anyone stunned, and for a right treat, cross the river in style on the Mur Island Bridge.

    Weather

July is the hottest month for Austria, with average temperatures reaching 19 degrees Celsius. However, rain is possible so we recommend taking both rain and sun protection; a mac or poncho in case of rain, and sun cream for the sunny weather. Loose and comfortable clothing is advisable and it is always best to take layers in case the temperature drops, particularly if you are camping.
