We discover the best value for money races across different motorsport disciplines from around the world.
Satiating a hunger for motorsport can be an expensive pursuit, but which events should you look at if you want bang for your buck? Motorsport Live takes a look at some of the more experience rich, cash-saving races out there.
Hungarian Grand Prix – F1
Formula 1’s pre-summer break event is one of the cheapest for European spectators to attend, given the wealth of flight options, the relative low cost of accommodation – with plentiful hotels and apartments to rent – and the availability of reasonably-priced food and drink in Hungary’s charming and cultural capital Budapest. General admission is also on the inexperience side and also provides great views of a circuit that regularly basks in the glorious summer sunshine.
General admission tickets start from £65, for more information and to book your tickets for Hungary click here. Motorsport Live also has an exclusive Fan stand option at this year’s race, offering DJ entertainment live in the grandstand throughout the weekend, and a goodie bag of extras. Its great value for money. Click here to find out more.
Belgian Grand Prix – F1
For British spectators in particular the Belgian Grand Prix can usually be treated as something of a bank holiday getaway and it can be regarded as a proper old-school event. Thousands of fans opt to make the road trip pilgrimage using either the regular and affordable Eurotunnel or cross-channel ferry and cruise through France and Belgium to reach the iconic circuit. Once there a carnival atmosphere will greet you, with plenty of campsites offering cheap and conveniently-located accommodation for the weekend.

Located just down from turn 9, live DJ entertainment and a great track location great for those wanting to get up close to the cars. Secure your seat today and click here.
Thai Grand Prix - MotoGP
Confused how this is here? Don’t be. The cost of flights to the vibrant Asian country may be on the more expensive side, especially when compared to a road trip to Belgium, but they’re comparatively cheap considering the long distances involved – forking out around £450. Once there accommodation, food, travel and event tickets are all really reasonable, and to boot it’s a Grand Prix that has proved itself to be one of the most popular on the MotoGP calendar. Once there Thailand provides something for all the senses, ensuring it will be an experience you’ll never forget.

Isle of Man TT
In terms of a pure racing spectacle showing an outright fearless approach to competition there’s surely no more scintillating and (potentially) terrifying experience than the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Watch as some of the best riders in the world hurtle themselves through the island’s narrow and fast roads in the ultimate test of man and machine. Reaching the island is cost-effective and straightforward – either by ferry or plane – while general admission tickets are also inexpensive, given the length of the circuit.

Le Mans 24 Hours
The sportscar extravaganza in the French countryside is one of the most popular sporting events anywhere on the planet and it’s an iconic destination for any four-wheeled fan. With 24 hours of racing it offers a unique throughout the night racing experience it represents great value for money, pound for pound.
The race is one where a road trip is compulsory; for which many this a part of the whole experience. Take the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen, though go easy on the throttle pedal once in France courtesy of our friends at the Gendarmerie. In terms of action Le Mans is high up on the list as the field of 62 compete for 24 hours, meaning there’s no shortage of competition to watch from an array of easy-to-access vantage points. With campsites, fun fair, fan zones and endless car parades this provides a true end-to-end experience for the whole family. Book your Le Mans tickets today and click here.
