Formula One racing's governing body, the FIA, has formally ratified a 21-race calendar for the 2016 season, running from March to November. A change in F1's regulations has increased the maximum number of races permitted in a season from 20 to 21, meaning 2016 will feature more races than any other season in history.
The only date change from the provisional calendar is the Mexico race, which has been brought forward a week to 30th October 2016. The calendar includes the return of the Europe leg at a new venue in Azerbaijan. Germany also returns to the calendar at the Hockenheimring after a year's break. However, the USA leg is still provisional as negotiations continue after the state of Texas cut the race's funding by 20%.
