Located on the outskirts of Delhi in the Noida suburb, the Buddh International Circuit will be part of the 2,500 acre Jaypee Greens Sports City, which will consist of a cricket stadium, golf course and hockey stadium.
The Hermann Tilke designed track features 16 corners, made up of 7 left turns and 9 right turns. Several of the teams were consulted before construction started to gather feedback. This resulted in some minor changes, a planned hairpin at turn 7 was removed and turn 3 widened. The combination of straights, corners and changes in elevation has been designed to allow high speeds and provide good opportunities for overtaking. With the circuit rising 14 metres within the first 3 corners and an estimated top speed of 320km/h it is one of the most challenging circuits on the Formula 1 calendar.
