MALAYSIAN FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX

Introduction

Sepang International Circuit is located near the town of Sepang, about 50km south of the capital Kuala Lumpur. Although out-of-town, the circuit has excellent transport links.

Airport

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is located only 10 minutes away from the Sepang circuit. The city of Kuala Lumpar is 60 km to the north and is most easily reached by the airport Express Rail Link (ERL), which arrives in city centre in 30 minutes. Alternatively, driving to Kuala Lumpur takes about 45 minutes.

Accommodation

Sepang is the nearest town to the circuit, but most visitors choose to stay in the city of Kuala Lumpur because of the much larger range of accommodation and attractions on offer. Accommodation is very reasonably priced in comparison to many western countries. Similarly, tourist activities, restaurants, and bars all tend to be good value in Malaysia and they're in plentiful supplier in Kuala Lumpur.

If your interest is just in the Grand Prix then you may want to consider staying at a hotel near the airport, which is located very close to the circuit.

Getting to the Circuit

Sepang International Circuit is located out-of-town but excellent road and rail links make reaching the circuit is relatively easy:

• Train - regular train services from all directions run to the nearby Nilai and Kuala Lumpur International Airport train stations. From here, either take a taxi or the shuttle bus to the circuit. If coming from Kuala Lumpur you can purchase a special ticket which includes the Express Rail Link to the airport and shuttle bus to the circuit.
• Coach - Aero Bus, Sky Bus, and Star Shuttle all coaches run from Kuala Lumpar to the circuit.
• Shuttle Bus - regular shuttle buses run from Nilai and KL International Airport train stations directly to the circuit for a nominal fee.
• Taxi - taxis and limousines go to and from the circuit pick-up zone outside the main entrance. There can be long queues for a taxi at the end of the race.
• Car - take the North-South Highway from Kuala Lumpar to reach the circuit. Circuit parking is available but ensure you buy a parking pass in advance. Road directions are included with your booking.
