Fantastic Hungary

, 04 Aug 2009
By Mass Fan
Book F1.com was very helpful with my enquiries and our tickets arrived as stated. Our first F1 and was very impressed by the whole weekend. The open pit lane on Thursday night was very busy but we all got to see most things. Friday and Saturday were quiter and we spend more time looking around. Sunday had a really good atmosphere and after the race the track was opened and it was quite a sight to see thousand of people pour onto the track. Only down side was the free bus from budapest which although always ran on time, the bus stop was in the village next to the track and you have approx 1 mile walk up a hill in the heat, bit of a shock the first time but we did get use to it. Although our entrance gate was gate 6 (top of hill) we always showed our pass at the main gate and walked to our seats from there which was much easier.
We bought hats and tshirts at the tracks f1 village which were cheaper than outside on the stalls.

Hungary 2009

, 01 Aug 2009

The circuit is easy to get to by public transport. From the centre of Budapest take the Red Metro 2 to Ors vezer tere and then switch to the mainline HEV train. Both journies take about 20 mins and cost less than £4 return. Hop off at the Szilasliget station snd the circuit is just over 1 mile from the station. The walk is mostly uphill on a rough road, but taxis are available for a fewe pounds.

Would definitely consider going again.

Hungaroring

, 29 Jul 2009
By Jo F
Good view of start finish line and the Ferrari pit garage, great to see them setting up but a much better view would be at the end of the pit straight before the first corner or at the end of another straight so you can see them coming. Hired Kangaroo TV which was great to hear the commentary (5 live) but the screen is small and difficult to see in the sunlight, €90 for Sunday race a but much though, this was for 2 headphones - which worked well as ear defenders too - splitter and the handset.

My first - but not my last - Grand Prix

, 28 Jul 2009
By Frances Watts
What a fantastic circuit!! An amazing city!! Friendly and helpful fans!! This was my first Grand Prix and I'm so glad we chose this particular one at Hungaroring. The views from where we were seated in Silver 2 (right opposite the big screen) were stunning across to the hills. The view of the track was excellent too, the facilities were top class with clean toilets, ample loo paper, a good variety of food (albeit the price jumped 100% from Saturday to Sunday on many stands (grrrrr). Getting to the track was free via local transport, but oh my goodness what a hike from the drop-off to the Grandstand! 2.5kms going one way (clockwise) round the track through fields and pebbly dirt tracks, and 2.8 going the other way (anti-clockwise) on a tar road with concrete pavements up the steepest hill! Thank goodness I'd lost a stone and a half before going, otherwise I'm sure I would have collapsed half-way!

We even got a wave from Lewis when he spotted our flag in amongst masses of Ferrari supporters as they did the Drivers Parade, and we had the best time with the Ferrari guys, joking and teasing each other.

Litter pickers were out in force and I saw very little evidence of rubbish, there was a good atmosphere at all times, no fights, no drunken rowdiness, just everyone having a good time.

BookF1.com have resolved the problem I had with radio equipment - absolutely 1st class service - less than 6 hours after I left feedback about it, so here's a huge thank you for that, and I shall definitely be back!

Hungarian Grand Prix

, 28 Jul 2009
By Joan
Overall it was a very unique experience. The only thing that was not as expected is the difficulty of getting to the track and the inability of security staff to guide you to the right location. One guard told us that we were 2km away from the bus stop and that our only option was to walk there (an announcement that needless to left us with our jaws dropping and desperate to just find a means to go to Budapest) where in fact we were only a few meters from the stop.

Budapest F1

, 28 Jul 2009
By Big Rig
My only comment would be that over half the stands were empty. Given the credit crunch why did they not reduce the stand ticket prices and full the stands up? General Admission was £130, my view is that General Admission should be £90, and the stand tickets (silver and bronze) should be about £180. Would make for a better event. No point having all the good viewing spots empty and the General Admission people watching the race through 2 fences and some trees. It seemed like Bernie had made a special effort to make the General Admission viewing spots as bad as possible.

Great weekend

Great venue, great race ! The seats are on the small side though. And I wonder why the buses from the city are not going all the way up to the circuit entrance.

Hungarian 2008 - To Bristol Lads - McLaren

, 13 Jul 2009
By CoatSie
I have recently been to the Nurburgring f1 this year, and the Hungaroring is by far much better, its facilities are good, lots of places to buy food and drinks, the F1 village is excellent, and the opertunity to walk around the outside of the track is good! Also at the end invading the race track, and watching steve rider and martin brundle commentate! Excellent, also met some scots supporting DC great fun, pols, and fins are great sports aswell, plus you cant beat the weather is brilliant. We stayed in the Marco polo hostel just in the Buda part of the city got a taxi to the circuit every morning that was about £40 english, then after got the bus back and walked through town back to our hostel. Best Grandprix for me so far!

Hot Hungaroring

, 08 Apr 2009
By Pg Doll
Had a great time at the Hungaroring last year even though it was extremely hot esp on quali day! Sat in the redbull stand and had great views of 90% of the track! Fantastic atmosphere with all the Kubica fans, makes a change from the Tifosi lol!!
Was pretty easy to get to the ciruit and great the organisers threw on a free bus from Budapest ;-) The f1 village was super with lots of interactive stuff going on. We took our own food and drink but did purcahes the odd ice cream to cool us down!
Loved invading the track at the end.
Loved the Hungaroring so much we are going back again this year and sitting in the redbull stand again

see ya there
Pg , Glasgow, Scotland

ps Budapest is alot cheaper than most european cities. Cheap ice cold beer ;-)

Hungarian Grand Prix - Silver 2 Grandstand

, 18 Aug 2008
By Hungary Grand Prix Fan
Sat on Silver 2 Grandstand which is a great spot for seeing lots of corners - the circuit was very clean and well laid out with plenty of places to get food and drink. Not a great overtaking circuit so not massively exciting - but still recommended. Booking service was very fast and efficient, staff very friendly and helpful.

First ever Grand Prix at age 60

, 10 Aug 2008
By Grand Prix Fan
Fantastic atmosphere and glorious weather couldn't take from the lack of racing excitement especially lack of overtaking opportunities. Facilities OK, but food not great for the prices charged... in fact food not great full stop. Am I glad I went?, Yes definitely. Would I go again? Yes, to Hungary but NOT to Hungaroring.

First ever Grand Prix at age 60

, 10 Aug 2008

Service received from Book F1 was exceptional, especially from Paul Deason who had the patience of Job in dealing with my queries. Well done Paul and thanks. Pity the design of Hungaroring makes for a pedestrian race but the experience was memorable.

Hot in Hungary!

, 08 Aug 2008
By Davis family - N.W. England
The whole days experience was fantastic as it was the first time we'd been to a F1 GP other than Silverstone and the first time our children had come with us. The weather being so good definitely helped as don't think it would be good for fans if wet! We just had general admission tickets which in hindsight if we were to go again we'd pay the extra for seats as we were limited to what we could see. Loved going on the track at the end of the race though seeing the podium & pits etc. Bit of a downer at the end though having to wait over 2 hours in the heat for a taxi back to Budapest city. Loved Budapest - excellent city.

Hungary Grand Prix Review

, 05 Aug 2008
By MB, Brazil/Finland
Tickets were delivered on time and on line support (email) worked very well during the purchasing process. We should wear the ticket on out neck for verification process all the time, however the plastic envelope and the neck strap were not provided. Would be also good to have a map of the paid parking lots near there as the free ones were full.
