German grand Prix Review

, 05 Aug 2009
By Cyrilthemilkman
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my race weekend at the nurbergring, although it doesn't beat silverstone for entertainment and atmosphere.

One thing to remember if you have general admission tickets is that you can't take your own chairs in you have to sit on the grass or take a roll mat or something. I didn't realise this so had to leave my camping chairs outside the circuit, needless to say they weren't there when i got back!

On Sunday at first the weather was not kind to us, but changed at racing start to sunshine. Generally we had a super time!

First ever F1 weekend

, 22 Jul 2009
By Marta Pyrzyna
Despite the weather we were mostly satisfied. Even thought it was our first weekend with F1 and we have had no experience so far we would appreciate a better acces to the drivers. The drivers shoud stand on a some kind of a ramp to be better seen so at least we as fans would get a chance to make photos with our own cameras. After queing for more than two hours in an enormous crowd we ended with no autograpf at all.

German F1 GP

, 20 Jul 2009
By Rick Siffleet
1st rate viewing although without a roof on the T13 stand, I got a sunburnt forehead! Crowd marshalls were very helpful, although the new 'credit card' system of paying for food and drink caught us by surprise and there is no way of checking the €20 we put on the card is actually credited. We ran out of 'credit' when we were sure there should have been some left. That's the only gripe. Would use your excellent services again but it would have been the icing on the cake if you had supplied some plastic pouches to hold the admission tickets. Regards, Rick Siffleet.

Beware T4A seating!

, 20 Jul 2009
By AGP
I bought tickets in the upper level of T4A believing them to offer the best view possible. T4A does indeed have the best view of the start/finish line and several corners - unless you are seated to the left of the stand as you look out to the track. The left-most quarter of the seats cannot see the start/finish straight at all!

I went to see the ticket office and after a prolonged debate and much persistence managed to get our tickets exchanged for seats in upper T4 (same price). The view from here was excellent. Not quite as good as the right side of T4A, but very nearly. Incidentally the "best" seats in T4A, which were clearly visible from our spot in T4, looked to be almost exclusively occupied by large corporate groups (all wearing same team hats/colours).

So beware booking T4A.
As an individual you can't book specific seats but it would seem that the teams can and what is left over is not worth the money.

Would recommend anyone looking for a F1 ticket to purchase from bookf1.com. The seats were great and the service was top notch. We will be buying again next time we need F1 tickets.

T14 area

, 16 Jul 2009

Good tickets, food in grounds good value and quality, especially c/w English events! Portaloos grim - cannot imagine what it would have been like if the weather had been hot all weekend! When paying £125 for standing room I am sure the organisers could stretch to better facilities than those toilets.
I went to Melboure GP 5 years ago and general admission enabled you to wander around the circuit (apart from grandstands) and get a better feel of the place. This set up was a lot more restrictive. Parking was good but access on Sunday was 1 hour slower than Saturday.

Excelent grandstand for F1. Such an interesting part of the circuit. Many passes and situations. Getting to the racetrack by car was not as easy as I read. Almost two hours on bumper to bumper traffic.

I may have been tempted to get the offered Kangaroo TV but for the fact that their were no spots near 10a to return them, I assume I would have had to walk all the way back to the main section to do this (no thank you!)
You could easily sell 10 times as many of these had you simply made it convenient for the prospective buyer.

Recommended for a Proper Weekend Break

, 15 Jul 2009
By Joe
Stay "locally" to the circuit - local is anything up to 15 miles away (we used Lutzerath) - driving there and back is then mostly hassle-free, as everybody uses the motorways to get there. Only one principal road services the track, and if an exit gets blocked you can wait for hours - try driving around the track on the service road to exit elsewhere. If staying locally, go see the Mosel river (Cochem for the river through the town, Bernkastel-Kues for an incredible chocolate-box German town) - the drive down the valley is an experience in itself(!), sample some Reisling wine, and talk to the locals - it's all a very relaxed area, lovely locals (try your German - it's not needed but it makes them laugh).

First Visit to Grand Prix

, 15 Jul 2009
By Sandra Wilkins
The venue was very good but will be amazing when the all the new buildings and facilities are finished. T11 offered very good view of the track but the seats were quite cramped and the stand a long walk from the main facilities. On refelection for the money I would have paid the extra and had seats in T4 or the main stand which offered more comfort and close to all facilities.

It would also have been helpful to have had more informaton about the full programme when buying a weeekend ticket. We were not aware that there was opportunity for pit lane and circuit tour on the Thursday and so missed this. We also did not know that the weekend pass entitled us to sit in any stand on practice day on Friday and we would have made more of this opportunity had we known.

Overall a fabulous weekend although get there very early as parking can take over an hour and took 2 hours to get out after the race.

Tribune 10 gave a good view of the circuit as cars race uphill and enter the corner You could also see the cars as they raced down to the hairpin corner Unfortunately there was no large video screen you could easily view. There was a screen oppositebut we were end onto it and the screen further up the track was really too far away to see it clearly especially in bright light

Be careful which tickets you book.

, 15 Jul 2009
By Chris H-Smith
If you are offered alternative tickets ensure they are of the same standard as the ones you originally booked, you could end up standing for the entire weekend as you have not been given the correct information! If you are in T12 general, not the seated area you are effectively stuck on that side of the track, the only way to reach the front is via a long hike. The food and drink stalls are of a good standard, but you need to be aware that in order to purchase anything you need a "ring card". These are easily obtained and you pre-charge them with as much money as you like. They are easily topped up.

Nurburgring 2009

, 14 Jul 2009
By Stephen, Ireland.
Travelling to the circuit from Cologne took 4 hours due to very long tailbacks. Just one line of traffic going to Circuit...CRAZY!!! After the race, roads are changed to a one-way system, so, easy to get away. Otherwise, good circuit with lots of stands and very good merchandising area behind the Main Grandstand - excellent Rollercoaster too!!!
