Could be better

, 05 Aug 2010
By Martin Lunn
Excellent seats on fourth row got us a good seat in Nortribune stand, but only one portaloo for the whole stand, luckily there are some woods close by but you shouldn't be expected to use them. Closest toilets were in beer garden or in main F1 Village. Access to parking before the races was excellent, but after the race you were not allowed onto Dual Carriageway, took 40 minutes to get back onto a main road. Food expensive - WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT - it's F1 !

Hard to go back to the Hotel

, 05 Aug 2010
By Véronique
The WE was Wonderful. We staid in Stuttgart and went to the Porsche Muséum and the Mercedes Museum. On satruday night we saw a concert of Crosby Still & Nash and Hockenheim on sunday. The bad points (nothing to worry about): Hard to find some water or whatever you want... Half an hour for a bottle of water and hard to leave: all the roads were full.

attended all 3 days

Seats were good, with good visibility, just able to see podium. Practice was a bit dull, but useful to get a feel for the place. When you arrive you get told where to park your car - but they lay on busses to get you closer. You need to like Sausages! Race day was great - very busy the GP2, Porch and ceremonies were good. The race itself was good but predictable - shame about Ferrari changing lead driver. Schwettsingien is a nice local.

Hockenhiem GP

By Aussie F1 fan
The shuttle bus to and from the Mercedes stand didn't run from Tribune Nord corner where most people (using public transport) arrived at the track. The shuttle bus wasn't 'shuttling' after the race either. They were at the grandstand but refued to let people on or move.

German Grand Prix 2010, Hockenheim

, 01 Aug 2010
By Paul Dowley
We had an excellent Race Weekend in Hockenheim.
It was my third time in Hockenheim and my Brothers first.
I have seen big changes to the Circuit/facilities and entertainment, all of which were First Class, (my Brother was also very impressed by the Circuit/facilities and entertainment, since it was his first time there).
Both of us would definitely put Hockenheim down as our First Choice of Circuits that we have been to in Europe.
We would definitely recommend Hockenheim to other Formula 1 Race Fans.

Hockenhiem Grand Prix

Great seats! We stayed in Heidelberg - which was beautiful! Caught train to Hockenheim in about 50 min journey. A shuttle bus collects from the trains station down to the near the track.

The seats were great, but if you want a bit of class - go for Haupittrane!
There is a track invasion at the end, so wait for that! It was really made the experience. You get close to the pit lane and can even see or sneak inside the paddock!

The German hosting was understated and very efficient and polite. An excellent experience... with lots of food!!

Buy your beer on the long walk down

great weekend, didnt suss out the extent of the "fixing" till after we left the circuit

basic admission is a waste of time, would not recommend to anyone

in theory you cant get into an area that you dont have a ticket for ie if you have a ticket for a more expensive seat you cant get into a cheaper one

mercedes stand, blagged our way in there, view aint as good as price suggests

at the sachs curve grandstands there are fences seperating the different sections, if you were beside one of these youd be looking yer money back!

German GP

, 30 Jul 2010
By Sam Farah
Good seats but bad facilities including toilests and access to them. Lack of control over who could go where. There were dozens of people standing right behind our seats. They appear not to have any seats at all, so what were they doing in the grandstands? Also a major cause of over crowding was the fact that the general public (who have no tickets whatsoever) have access to everywhere, including the F1 village.

with my leg in plaster it was never going to be easy but with your help it turned out great. As you suggested we found a steward @ the press carpark (still in car) he pointed to "Information center" were 2 ladies issued a disable sticker for the carpark right next to main entrance. No body could park any closer, unless u were taking part in the racing.THANKS DAVE.

Where to sit at Hockenheim

, 29 Jul 2010
By Scotty
Nordtribune C has some great seats, but unfortunately these are in the high section, whilst we were in the low section, and zones 1 - 3 are best - 4 is a bit to far round the corner.

The best seating at the circuit is by the finish line sitting high up. From here you can see about 50% of the track.

Great fans, great experience!

Hockenheim 2010

, 28 Jul 2010
By Skinny Byrne - Ireland
Attended Hockenheim race in July - Stayed in Frankfurt, just over 1hr away by train - you can buy a special group ticket for €39 which 5 people can travel on. Transport from Hockenheim train station to the circuit and back, is well organised with plenty of FREE bus transfers. Getting around the Circuit and to your stand or general admission area is quite easy. Most merchandise stands are located in one area behind the main Grandstand, maybe they should spread them around the Circuit more. One thing to note if you are booking a stand ticket...Row 1 is at the back of the stand and not the front (lower) row as you might think. I had row 18 tickets and found myself close to the front row, watching the race through the security fence. Thanks to Bookf1 for another successful F1 trip.

2010

Great German efficiency with directing cars in and out of the area and parking arrangements.
Males queueing for toilets, but good to see females not having to queue. climbing steps.
Chose middle of grandstand because I struggle a bit with climbing steps, only to find that you initially climb to the top of the grandstand from the rear and then descend to your chosen row, thus it would have been easier to have selected a higher row.
Not been to Hockenheim before. Not sure I would go again because the race was very processional and consequently not very exciting.

Great first Formula 1 experience

, 28 Jul 2010
By Nige05uk
I went to Hockenheim for my first Grand Prix experience and have to say I have got the bug now and want to go to more!
I had a weekend ticket and stayed in Heidelberg which although is not far from Hockenheim requires a train ride to Manheim and then another train down to Hockenheim taking probably 2-3 hours overall once you have walked all the way to your seat. If I were to go again I would probably look to stay in Manheim or Scwhetzingen which is a lot closer to the circuit
The weekend ticket is great and especially enjoyed the GP2 and GP3 races as well as the F1. Got a good view of the TV screen as well so could follow the race ok, but must admit wasn't totally sure what happened between Massa and Alonso although suspected he had let him through but I was surprised there wasn't more booing so I am not sure all the crowd had realised what had happened!
It was great you could go onto the circuit at the end of the race, i was disappointed though I could go to other parts of the circuit apart from my stand during the whole weekend- I think it would have been nice on the Friday to see the circuit from different viewpoints as there were many seats empty this day.
Plenty of food and drink available. lots to see in th F1 village, and the Hockenheim museum is worth a look too for just 5 euros.
Thanks to BookF! for my tickets, they sent me lots of info which was very helpful considering I booked it all at the last minute!

hockenheimring is looking a bit old, but still had a great time. parking isn't too bad. took about a 20 min walk through the forest. well organised. seats were good. people friendly. F! merchandise is way too overpriced though, but overall couldn't really ask for much more.
