FRENCH FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX
The Magny-Cours circuit is in a remote location and so your choice of airport may be influenced by your flight connections.
The closest international airport is Charles de Gaulle, but Paris and Orly are also options. UK travellers may also want to consider
the Eurostar which now travels to central Paris. From here you will need to get to to one of the towns nearer the circuit as Magny-Cours is 250km away from Paris!
Your best option is to locate in one of the nearby towns of Nevers, Moulins or Autun. Nevers is the closest at about 12km from the circuit.
However, book early as the rural setting of the circuit means accommodation options are more limited. For those who are closer to nature, there
are also various camping sites around the area.
The major car rental companies are located at the above airports and this may be a good solution for getting to the
nearby towns for accommodation. These can be booked in advance over the Internet.
Travel to Magny-Cours circuit is made more complicated by its rural location but don't panic just yet:
- Train - the nearest train station is in Nevers. From here you will need to arrange a transfer to the circuit.
- Bus - a shuttle service runs from Nevers to the circuit over Grand Prix weekend.
- Taxi - taxis can take you to and from the circuit. It's a good idea to arrange a pickup in advance to avoid long queues.
- Car - the out-of-town location benefits the car owner with a large amount of transport available at the circuit.
- Helicopter/Light Aircraft - for those with money to burn why not fly to the circuit or nearby Nevers. They can facilitate small aircraft to arrive in true style.
