Camping F1 weekend

, 04 Jul 2008
By Scottish DC Fan
We camped at the track and the male facilities were very poor. Much better for my female companion. Track prices and campsite prices wre reasonable. local transport to and from the track is very poor and the taxis rip you off.

Thanks to everyone involved

We had a great time. The campsite was brilliant, toilets always clean, day or night. pity about the lack of hot water, and really bad control of traffic leaving the campsite...but otherwise had a fantastic weekend. Would definately go again!

Acceptable

, 02 Jul 2008
By Gerhard Australia
Overall I enjoyed the event and got no more and no less than expected. I do think its outragiously expensive though for what you get.
The food really was terrible. There was a crepe stall which might have been nice, but before 12 they had run out of crepe's! Pathetic.
A real highlight for me was visiting the Ligier museum after the race. It really was fantastic to visit I recommend it to anyone who has followed the sport long enough to remember when they used to win races. They have so many cars there and its great to see how much they have changed over the years.
Parking really was a joke when trying to leave the circuit. Given that I spent an hour in the museum after the race, I still had to wait 1 hour in the carpark before even attempting to leave it. Even then I took a detour to get away from the traffic.
I had a seat on the main straight and was pretty disappointed with the lack of big screens. Why there is not a screen above the pits is beyond me.
The other dissapointment was not being able to get onto the track for the podium celebration. Half way through the celebration a gate was opened somewhere, but unless you had been before there was no way to find out where! It certainly wasn't near any of the stands on the straight.
My wife says she doesn't want to go to any more F1 races...

What a View!

, 01 Jul 2008
By Kate, England
Fantastic weekend, and the French really know how to organise the traffic. Our seats opposite the pit lane gave incredible views from the chicane to the first bend and tantalising glimpses of other sections of the circuit. The Burgundy countryside was an amazing backdrop.

The experience would have been improved if we could have seen a screen - there were plenty of places to fix one - and if we could have had shelter. The practice days were blistering and race day was perfect during the race itself but threatened rain all day.
Astonishingly, for France, the other disappointment was the standard of catering. I suppose all discerning French bring their own picnics.

Restricted veiwing

, 27 Jun 2008
By British Grand Prix Fan
We were very very disapointed with our seats in Tribune D they were right on the front row , restricted by the bars and the RSB walkway right at the end of the pit lane. Plus I mentioned my husband was disabled, he could manage some stairs but the walking down to the front was hard. The only plus side was the parking was good.

Camping at French GP

, 27 Jun 2008
By France Grand Prix Fan
Superb views across circuit, camping would be better if allotted spaces were given, as some take enough space for 20 tents. Spent nearly an hour looking for a pitch

Magny Cours 2008

, 26 Jun 2008
By Christine GB
This was our first GP and have to say it was a wonderful experience - we flew to Tours and stayed in Loches so were able to combine lots of chateau viewing as well as the race - ideal if not everyone in the party is there for the race! we chose the est vip parkng and were virtually opposite the track entrance and our seats were in tribune D which were great as they were opposite the pit lane exit where the cars are a bit slower so that you can actually see them! The only down side to the whole day was getting away from the track - it was very well organised so you weren't sat in the car park but you could only go one way - the opposite one to the one we wanted so it took a bit of frantic navigation to get us back on the right road - it didn't put us off however and we'll certainly be there next year as besides the race there are a lot more chateaux to see and wines of the Loire to be sampled !All in all a great long weekend.

French GP June 2008

, 24 Jun 2008
By Richard, England
Fab circuit for viewing, not a lot of overtaking though. The downside!!!!
Getting out, what a joke, if you think Silverstone is bad, do not come here. We gave up and did a 50 mile detour just to get going!!!!, Will not be going again because of this.

Magny Cours

By France Grand Prix Fan England
Good circuit layout with stands all around.
Positive
Enjoyed the free pit lane walk on the thursday with most teams putting on some activity. Also the coach trip around the circuit was good Car parking was good as was organisation at the end to get everyone away
Not so Good
The circuit did not have anyway of posting the car race positions The large screens were OK but the text on them was not readable from the stand NEEDS several vertical displays around the circuit that will just give a descending display of say 8-10 car numbers relating to race position
Also at no point not even Friday were you allowed to look at any stand unless you had the correct stand ticket Would be good to have free access to most stands so you can assess their position for the next time you visit

Dad & Lad 1st F1

, 23 Jun 2008
By David Stanton - Chester - UK
It's no secret that access to Magny Cours is poor - getting out is a lot worse but; it would have been so much more so had the attendance been more than about the 50% we had in our stands.
I had not expected an F1 could be so poorly attended.
Every other F1 I have been to had food stands nearby - at Magny Cours it was a trek from the Tribune Senna passing through about four ticket checks en route to the food area.
There were not enough food outlets by any means and absolutely no variety. But then I don't think anything could beat Monza for the trackside food.
Thirty Euros to park in a farmers field was "going some", too.!!
We met up with some Kiwis' and they were every disappointed with their experience.
However, the most positive side was that my son loved his experience and it all went well because your team did the business for us on the tickets.
For that, we both thank you very much.

Magny Cours 2008 Review

I was aware that the facilities at m.c. would be less then at others circuits, but felt that these were certainly below par given ticket price. Parking v badly organised also.

Thoughts on French Grand Prix

, 23 Jun 2008

Your service was A1 will use you again.
The french track is showing signs of age, and not being looked after. The parking was really badly organized, and there was now help for English language speakers only at all.

nice circuit,shame about the facilities

, 23 Jun 2008
By France Grand Prix Fan GB Glos
Whilst the circuit is remore this was not the main problem.he catering facilities were disappointing if you did not want a baguette or chips, burgers etc.
However we had a good time and enjoyed the race.We would not hurry back there but the French Grandprix may be moved anyway.
We migh try belgium next year.

Magny Cours July 2006

By F1 Fan Staffordshire UK
We had a fantastic time. Our second Grand Prix and well worth the money. The weather was very very hot with plenty of water available. The atmosphere was great. Book accommodation very early and also book parking. It is well worth it. We had seats in Tribune D which were good. Roll on the next race, we can't wait!!

Magny-Cours

, 02 Feb 2006
By F1 Fan from Ireland
Aim to arrive in Nievre(nearest Town)on the Saturday. Carnival athmosphere is not to be missed. You might not get Hotel accommodation, but sleeping in cars is worth it!!! As for raceday - the circuit is easy to get to, parking is right beside the circuit. 'General Admission' viewing is very good however there is no TV screen so a Grandstand ticket would be better. Food and drink facilities could be better too. Weather is fantastic - 'very hot'. Leaving the carparks is a bit slow but not too bad. Overall Magny-Cours is a good circuit if you want to see and hear the cars. Good start for a first timer.
