Spanish GP

Stand P
By Sandra, 10 May 2010
A brilliant weekend these seats are fantastic we had a view of 2 corners then we turned round to see cars come out of the corner to go down the straight then seconds come down the straight past the pits absolutly amazing (you only get the extra views if you have any seat on the back row). The only thing that lets the track down is the exits we need more it is such a crush. Will definatly be going again next year.

First time and wont be the last

Stand P
By Adrian Dallas, 10 May 2010
This was first time live at F1 so didn't know really what to expect but overall experience tells me that I will definitely be back.
Starting with the positives:
bookF1.com could not be faulted. Tickets came well in advance and information sent by email was excellent. Although I think ours were the cheapest reserved seats (Stand P) I have no complaints. View was good and generally the atmosphere was excellent although you would have thought Alonso had won the Championship when he came second in the race by default. (But I suspect Silverstone will be the same if the reverse happens.) I know what people mean when they say they can get better views using general admission and picking a good spot on the grassy banks but bearing mind that it rained hard on Friday night I would still vote for a reserved seat rather than venture onto the morass of clay & water that was evident on Friday morning.
People moan about the rail link from Barca to Montmelo but I think it was pretty acceptable. Getting to the circuit was straightforward enough and we chose to walk from the station to the circuit just for a bit of exercise. I guess it would be different if we weren't able to walk that far but for us it suited us fine. The return rail journey was a little more difficult with huge crowds being kept penned in outside the station yard (especially on the Sun) until a train arrived but when it did come it was surprisingly long and virtually everyone seemed to get on. I bet a lot of people wish Silverstone had as good a rail link.
The only major downside was circuit catering which was vastly overpriced (14 euros for two pints of lager) and, as far as the food was concerned unpalatable and badly served. We learned our lesson on the Friday and packed up our own trackside meals for the Saturday/Sunday.
But, as I said earlier, overall experience was favourable. People say that tickets are expensive and if you just go for the race maybe that's so but for three days (we couldn't get Thurs) top quality entertainment I don't know where you could find cheaper.

Excellent weekend

Stand P
By emodonog, 10 May 2010
An excellent service from bookF1.com was topped off by a great race and ideal seating. The team here went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that my first Grand Prix was all that I had hoped it to be, and will definitely have my future business.

Spanish GP 2010

Stand F
By Chris, 10 May 2010
Had a brilliant weekend, fantastic seats in Stand F (the upper half) which gave us a great view of the end of the pit straight, first 3 corners - which the cars look very impressive fying through - and another section of the track with turns 5 and 6. Access was fine, bit of a walk from the station but lined with stalls and merchandise so not too bad - the station is small and was very crowded after the race but without particularly rushing we still found ourselves squashed on to the first train that came when we got there, so were quickly back in the city. Would definitely recommend the weekend and will certainly do it again.

2009

General Admission
By J-D, 29 May 2009
The atmosphere on Thurs-Sat was very good - relaxed & friendly, however on race day there were a few groups of unsportly spanish fans that spoilt it. The food provision was quite bad and its a real good up hill walk to the circuit from the station. Transport back into Barcelona after the race was poor. However there were some good views for general admission.

Disappointing experiences

Stand N
By Chris Forbes, 20 May 2009
1. The positions available for £65 on the grassy banks were far superior to our £220 seats. 2.The shuttle service from the train didn't run Thurs or Sun after the race.

Spanish Grand Prix 2009

Stand B
By Seattle, 19 May 2009
My tickets and customer service from bookF1.com was fantastic! No complaints there. We recieved our tickets two weeks prior to the race, and they literally showed up the next day, and we are in Seattle, WA, USA. Our seats were truly great, I would have to say that we really lucked out because they were some of the best seats and offered a great view of the track.

Thanks!!!

As for the ascess to the track:

If you take the train from the Barcelona into Montmelo, I would strongly suggest taking the bus or one of the shuttles they provide on Sat/Sun on race weekend (Sunday after the race, the shuttle was not provided, and no taxis or buses were going to Montmelo for the train so walking was the only option). They say it is a 20 minute walk from the train but when we had to walk it, it took us about an hour without any shortcuts. Which maybe a lot of walking for some people, who hadn't expected it. And when you get to the track, it may be another long walk to your seats. The most accessible gate for us was on the opposite side of where our seats were located. So if you decide to train, bus, or walk I would allow yourself some extra time so you won't miss any of the events you want to see. All in all, we had a great time at the Spanish Grand Prix!!

Spain 2009

General Admission
By Deb , 19 May 2009
Make sure that you take plenty of cash with you to the race! After taking drinks from everyone at the gate they were charging 3 Euros for a small bottle of water and 4.50 Euros for a small coke.
I found this to be a lot more expensive than any other race I have been to, and definitely an increase on last years prices at the Spanish GP.

grand prix and camp site with motorhome

Main High
By Lesa Glenister, 18 May 2009
we arrived on friday afternoon to a very busy camp site but with plenty of space for every one, not the place to pitch if you want to sleep at night but the atmosphere was very friendly with lots of good banter going on mainly between the germans and spanish! we were the only english camper in the middle of a sea of french, spanish and german campers alike, but were made very welcome.
the camp site has all facilities but is quite busy, if you are lucky enough to go in a caravan or camper you can be totally self sufficiant. The circuit is very well sign posted from the motor way a very straight forward drive from calais, all the facilities at the track are excellent our only moan was the price of a beer 8.50 per pint! we discovered this on the first day so a tip is to buy your beer off site and transfer to plastic bottles to take in with you, its a lot cheaper you are aloud to do this but no glass bottles or cans are aloud to be taken in.
we had an excellent weekend our seats coudn't have been better if we had picked them out our selves ,upper tier right opposite finish line and podium I'm sure jenson was waving at me!

Spanish GP

Stand G (Zones 18-24)
By Phillip and the Viking crew,Denmark, 17 May 2009
Just returned from Spain having combined the race weekend with a family hoilday and what a fantastic trip !!
The plus points were definatly the location of our seats (stand G) and the great weather and of course a British win ! The down side as mentioned by so many other people was the cost of drinks and food,a disgrace,so for race day we made our own picnic up !!
Met some great characters and had lots of good banter with the locals.
We will for sure go to the Spanish GP again next year, and just to thank "Jenson Buttons barmy army" for the laughs !
Also many thanks to book F1 for the fantastic seats, great service.

superb

Main High
By Bernadette Foster, 16 May 2009
I choose this race weekend as a present for my son and husband last xmas, and I was not let down in any aspect of this gift. First I would like to thank bookf1 for the amazing seats provided, my men said it was truly unreal how close they were to the finish line with full view of the pits, and a clear view of the screen for the rest of the action on the track, the joy in their voices told me my choice was right plus the million thank you txt messages I received over the three days they were there. Thanks to Paul for fullfilling my wishes and making their gift a memory they will never forget, enough that they have expressed a wish to go to the another race in Asia next year so expense allowing I will hopefully be booking with bookf1 for next year. They also said at no time did they have any problems with the travelling to the circuit, that the spanish authorities have this event so well organised there is nothing for the individual to do but have a fantastic time, so for anyone thinking for going or buying a gift, book it through bookf1 they will not let you down. ENJOY.......

Spanish Grand Prix

General Admission
By Barry and Hazel Sales, 14 May 2009
If you are English be prepared for a great deal of good natured banter from the Spanish contingent, especially where L.H is concerned. Also there is a lengthy walk from Montmelo station to the circuit, mostly uphill, which can be tiring if the weather is very warm or if you are older, like me. You can get a taxi to the circuit which can cost you anything from approx. 8 to 20 euros depending on your bartering skills and if your driver understands you!
Price of food and drink in Spain has risen considerably in the past two years since my last visit so the cheapest thing to do is take your own supplies with you.
If you purchase a 3day ticket you will also be allowed the opportunity to walk down the pit lane on the Thursday, in the afternoon session many of the race drivers will come out and sign autographs for the fans---a mad scramble at times but well worth the hassle.

Good times

General Admission
By Greg, Newcastle, 14 May 2009
Attended my first GP at Barcelona in May 2009. Had an absolutely fab time. Food and drinks in the Circuit can be a bit expensive (8.50 Euros for a pint) but the sun was shining and I had a great time. If your staying in Barcelona centre then the train can be a little bit complicated and none of the staff there speak English. Dont let this put you off though!

Thanks to BookF1.com. No problems at all with the tickets!

our tickets arrived on time and by secure post which was great. no problems at all concerning the service provided by yourself. The circuit de catalunya lived up to all our expectations and the whole group had a superb weekend that will not be forgotten in a very long time. A win for Jenson topped it all off! Thanks Book F1!

Stand A
By mike, 14 May 2009
very good view of turns 1 and 2. the circuit is about a 30 minute walk rom the local railway station. Extra trains were put on from Barcelona on sunday.
On Friday apart from circuit admission there were no ticket checks for the grandstands. so we watched the gp2`s from the stands opposite the pits.
