Great weekend and the thursday pitwalk was a great bonu.s circiut is very smart. noted lack of eating places but we took packup as a lot cheaper. Easy access to circuit by car and took about 10 mins to get out after race !! Lots of english people there and the Spanish were also very freindly.

Excellent

General Admission
By Rosemary, 13 May 2010
I bought the tickets for my boyfriend for his birthday present-i'm so glad that I did! We both had a brilliant weekend-we had general admission tickets which were perfect as we were able to move around the track and view the race from a range of areas. We also got access into the stands after qualifying on Saturday so we got to see the start line and take loads of photos. The weather was fabulous which also helped!! You really don't notice the 20 minute walk to the track from the train station and it's very easy to get to and from the track using the train service. Bring a blanket to stretch out on and don't forget the earplugs!!

Great place to see your first Grand Prix

Stand E
By Jo, 13 May 2010
Barcelona was a wonderful circuit to see a Grand Prix. Stand E was fantastic viewing, to see the pit lane exit, end of the long straight (where almost all overtaking happens), first bend and small other parts of the circuit, aswell as a TV screen right in front. Access was confusing and the walk from the train station was very long (20-30 mins depending on speed). However, I stayed in Barcelona and the bus back on race day was incredible value, very quick and easy to get on. Refreshments were minimal and expensive in the circuit grounds. Staying in Barcelona meant there were many flights, a huge number of hotels to choose from, other sights to see and no bump up of local prices just because the Grand Prix was on. Great weekend and thoroughly recommended.

Great weekend in Barcelona

Stand E
By Keith, 13 May 2010
We did the pit walk on the Thursday and it was absolutly packed. Next time we would probably watch from the main stand and use binoculars. We had a hire car and used this to get to the circuit each day we went. On Sunday we arrived at the circuit about 08.30. It was busy but the traffic and site arrangements were first class with no real hold ups. We had pre purchased car parking and there were no delays into the car park. On leaving the circuit there were a few delays as expected but we were on the motorway within an hour of leaving our seats in the stand.
We took our own food and soft drinks and didn't buy any at the circuit as it is expensive. The merchandise is also expenive (eg 30 euros for a baseball cap).
Our seats were in Stand E, Zone 07 and Row 18 and the position was first class with excellent views over different parts of the circuit and a large screen opposite us.
If you are non smokers like us then you'll find that most people around you smoke. You just have to ignore it and enjoy the event.
The F1 race itself was not the most exciting but we found with the views we had of the circuit and a large screen opposite us we always had something to look at and the race went much quicker than it normally does watching it at home on TV. It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

Good weekend spoiled by pit walk/crush and spanish police.

Stand P
By Phil, 13 May 2010
Really enjoyed weekend but would not reccomend pit walk. It was far too dangerous and people were in danger of being crushed because of no one being able to get out of pit walk. In the end the crowd pushed their way out onto the track as there could have been a serious accident. It was not managed properly and would not recomend it at all to anyone. Prices for refreshments unbelievable 24 euros for 2 pints of lager .We got a train from Callella to barcelona el clot arago which was 7 euros 20 return per adult, it is a one hour journey. Then had to catch another train to montmelo which is 25 minutes 3 euros 15 return per person. Excellent train service but spanish police would not let train full of us off on the sunday and we were taken to the next town 15 minutes away, where we had to wait for another train back , typical stupid spanish police really. Its another 25 minute walk to track . You could have taken a taxi , but police had road closed off so they had to take you long way round.

Barcelona 8-9 May 2010

Stand P
By Gaynor, 13 May 2010
Had a fantastic time. Walk to the ground was fine - take your water with you - and there was a shuttle bus. transportation home (train) was crowded but very well organised and we didn't have to wait long for a train. Crowd a little hostile to Hamilton though. Would definitely go again, next time with our children.

Crowded & Very Anti-Hamilton but OK

General Admission
By SteveE, 13 May 2010
We had general admission tickets and went for the three days. We sat on top of the hill betwen turns 10 and 12 (La Caixa and Bank de Sabadell) - Its where Vettell went off. You get to see the cars for quite a while and you get to see them come to the end of the main straight with amazing sound and speed - a really good spot. But Take a chair ! All the Spanish (and it gets incredibly crowded) take chairs. The only prob with this location on the track is if it rains - the hill becomes a mud slide!! We booked parking and drove to the circuit from Girona - leave very early on race day and head in to access gate 7 - be there before 8am. You might not like this, but we left 8-10 laps before the end - but for the loss of 10 laps we saved over 2 hours trying to get away from the circuit. In fact, we jumped in the car and literally just drove away and straight on to the motorway. On Saturday we didnt do this and we got caught in a lot of traffic. Of course the downside was that we missed Hamilton going off.... Which leads me to one point.... the Spanish hate hate hate Hamilton - they whistled and jeered everytime he appeared on screen and even when he was paraded round before the race... its a shame this kind of attitude exists in this sport - I thought we F1 fans were above this, but seemingly not for the Spanish crowds. We did not get any hostility though. The only other point is that this race circuit provides nothing more that a single file parade race - there's pretty much no overtaking space, though still a few dramas with tyres and wheels coming adrift. As for Book F1 - top class service - thanks to the team.

The only issues we had was that there weren't enough signs inside the track to help find the seat. Also there could have been more road signs to direct us.
Otherwise it was an excellent weekend

Pit Lane Walk

Stand A
By Michael Le Mare, 13 May 2010
Tremendous weekend but the pit walk for 3 day ticket holders was a complete disaster. We arrived thursday just in time for a taxi from The Ramblas to the circuit where the organisers continually allowed spectactors into the pit lane which was blocked off at the end so everyone turned round and came back the same way. Total grid lock and we were forced, including mothers and their children, to climb the barriers onto the circuit - we saw nothing having paid £70 for the taxi and wasted 5 hours!!!

Catalunya 2010

Stand G (Zones 18-24)
By Jim Barclay, 12 May 2010
This was my first time at a GP and I found it to be a fabulous experience. We stayed in the centre of Barcelona and on each of the 3 days, made it to the Circuit by car in 30 minutes. The return journey was the same time, even on race day, so would have no hesitation in recommending driving to and from the track (although the city road system along Gran Via takes a bit of getting used to). Long queues built up on the first exit for the circuit heading north on the E15 but we travelled on for another 3km, came off at the next exit, and encountered virtually no hold-ups either way.

The circuit is very well organised with plenty of facilties, but unless you are a fan of Frankfurters or Pizza, better to take your own food and drink (the latter in plastic bottles).

Our tickets were for Stand G zone 18-24 which is an excellent vantage point as the cars are in view for around 25 seconds each lap. The rest of the lap can be followed on the giant TV screen but binoculars are good if you want to see the timings etc displayed

The programme each day ensured that there was always something happening and overall, a great weekend. Would I do it again.....absolutely !!!

Really great few days. Get there on time to enjoy the other races. Expensive for food and drink inside the circuit. Local supermarket good value as is the train from Barcelona, especially when you get a multi-trip ticket.

Spanish GP

Main High
By Dave, 12 May 2010
First time attendance at Spains GP. The GP was fantastic, great views and reasonable availability of souvenirs etc.

The down side(s) are :

1: One very long walk from Montmeo station to the track, make sure you buy plenty of water to take with you. Unless you specifically need to dont enter the track by gates 6 upward, use gates 1 to 5, these gates offer easier access if you have general tickets etc.

2: Take a pcked lunch or buy sandwiches etc before arrival at the track. €5 for a small bottle of coke or water really can't be justified and €50 for a meal on a paper plate is scandelous.

3: If you leave by exit 6 or 7 and want to go to montmelo train station make sure you follow the left hand path out of the track. If you don't you find yourself in a neghbouring town and the nearest train station is over a 5 mile walk!!!

4: Don't forget your sun hat, sun cream and cameras You will have a great time

Mansfield experience

Stand M
By Gill and Claire, 12 May 2010
Excellent weekend, great views of track everywhere, stand M has good view of first bend at start which was awesome! Very long walk from station - be prepared for this with good footwear! Well organised generally. Only criticism must be the pit lane walk on Thursday - could almost have been a disaster as there was no organisation and we were getting crushed - we had to escape over fence onto track and people passing children over their heads to get them out. Marshalls stood by and did nothing. Very frightening experience. We would not do this part of the weekend again but the other days were fantastic and a great birthday treat for Claire.

WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND WE HAD. F1 PROVIDED US WITH NOT ONLY GREAT SEATING TICKETS BUT ALL THE INFO WE NEEDED, IE TRAIN MAPS, CIRCUIT EVENTS AND TIMES ETC..... THE STADIUM IS ABOUT A 25MIN WALK FROM THE TRAIN STATION AND MAINLY UP HILL BUT THIS WASN'T A PROBLEM FOR US. THE STADIUM IS WELL ORGANISED, HOWEVER IT IS QUITE COSTLY FOR FOOD AND DRINKS SO WE TOOK IN OUR OWN (NO GLASS BOTTLES OR CANS ALLOWED, ONLY PLASTIC). WE HAD A 3 DAY TICKET AND WENT ON ALL 3 DAYS. EVEN THOUGH THE EVENT WAS FOR MY BOYFIREND (I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MOTOR RACING), I'M NOW HOOKED AND WANT TO GO AGAIN. WE HAVE NO HESITATION IN BOOKING AGAIN WITH F1, THANK YOU

it advertised on your website that buses would be there to shuttle you from the railway station to the circuit. No buses at station or circuit, found this very difficult with my 70 year old mother who found it hard to walk the 30 mins uphill to the circuit. on the second day we got a taxi, but taxis would not take you back to the station only to Barcelona, this was again difficult for any one who had difficulty walking or disabled. this was mmy onmly concern for the weekend
