MONACO FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX
Below you will find reviews, ratings, and tips on the circuit from other race fans.
Thank-you for re-directing our tickets. Good seats.
would not go to Rocher again--it's dangerous; and you can't see. Also ,the thousands of empty seats, even on race-day shows the product is over-priced.

Went for the full weekend, Thurs - Mon (well Tues actually because the volcanic ash meant an 11 hour delay coming back but this did not spoil a brilliant weekend). Went with my son a F1 enthusiast. We stayed 4 nights (only £14 more for the 4th (Sun) night) at a reasonable hotel in Nice - old building but good and clean. Staff spoke very good English and were very helpful. We were in a rush to get from Nice airport to the hotel to dump our luggage and get to Monaco for the Thurs practice. Therefore took a taxi to the hotel - ripped off a bit - charged 39EUR (later told by the hotel that it should be 29 during the day). Learned our lesson going back - caught airport bus from the station - 4 EUR each and nearly as quick. Hotel only 10 mins walk from the station. Bought train tickets in advance for all 4 days to save queuing, but well organised by Nice station people anyway. Only 20 mins or so to Monaco - approx 7 EUR per day return. Tickets for Tribune T on Thursday. Missed F1 practice but saw other good racing and great view of the pits.
Friday - free grandstand entry for practice and qualifying for non-F1 events. Can walk pits in the afternoon - just show Sat/Sun ticket. Afterwards we walked the whole course. In the evening we wandered around Casino Square - never seen as many Ferraris together in one place!
Saturday - sat in Tribune B - Casino Square, great seats. Saw Alonso lose it in Sat practice - got good photos of his busted Ferrari being lifted from the track. As MacLaren/Lewis Hamilton supporters, not too disappointed at this! Bought sandwiches and drinks from stall behind the stand. Reasonable prices for Monaco and a nice park area to sit out in the sun. You get pass-outs so can come and go as you please and don't lose your seat. Big screen in Casino Square so can see what is happening elsewhere. After qualifying went down to the paddock to gawp at the team motor homes - although this is understating it -some are massive, like mini houses. If you are lucky you might see some drivers and other personalities. We kept bumping into Eddie Jordan (perhaps I am using "personality" in the broader sense here!). Then free to wander round the harbour to see all the yachts and boats. Absolutely amazing, and so easy to wander about - just like walking the course, we were not constantly confronted by "No Entry" signs - unlike the UK where you can't do anything or go anywhere. Had a meal at Stars & Bars. Bit disappointed - unless you are lucky enough to get a table outside at the edge of the paddock area, not much chance of seeing a driver, and not cheap.
Sunday - race day. We had brilliant seats in Tribune K. Well done bookF1.com! Very back row which meant we could stand up as much as we liked without obstructing anyone's view. Had a great view of cars coming out of the left hander after the long straight from the tunnel, and then going into the swimming pool chicane. We were also directly over the pit lane and start and finish straight so could turn round in our seats and watch the cars streak by. The view was interrupted by fir trees but we still got some blurred red, silver and yellow photos that I am reliably informed were racing cars! And the noise was unbelievable. Ear plugs required here - the noise reverberates round the enclosed streets.
All in all a brilliant weekend. You might see a bit more on TV, but no substitute for the incredible atmosphere, the colour, the noise and the excitement. Ate out in Nice a couple of times. Great city - literally masses of places to eat out in street restaurants, and lovely walks along the promenade and coffee on the beach ( care - a bit pricey!).
Full marks to bookF1.com. I might have saved some money buying tickets in Monaco (there were spaces in all the stands we went in) but I wanted to be certain of getting the best seats, and as a one-off didn't mind paying for them.
Great weekend. ticket very low down on stand. need to be higher up.
