Monaco 2011 Sunday race

Tribune K High
By Sami, 06 Jun 2011
We had fabulous weekend in Monaco and Nice. I booked seats last year from tribune K high for Sunday race. I got the outermost places, by looking over my shoulder there was able to follow also cars coming from pits, finish line and podium/ champagne sprayings, so maybe the best seats there, just unforgettable weekend...

Brilliant first time!

By Harry the Dog, 05 Jun 2011
The race was very well organised, we had good seats right in the front of the pits and screens. The Friday pit-lane walk was excellent. It make the trip.
Only think missing was, bookf1 didn't give us a plastic wallets with lanyards to hold the tickets together!!!

Just Do It!

Tribune K High
By The Billericay Boys, 05 Jun 2011
Fantastic 5 days. Stayed in 2* Hotel Comte de Nice in Nice (Tripadvisor listed). Ideal for sleeping and very convenient for main station. Take cheap bus transfer from airport No 23 to Liberation. Buy return tickets from automatic machines in station for whole period at one go (English lang.) 20 mins to Monaco. Frequent trains. Loads of snack stalls also sell beer at 5 Euros a pint. Price varies in bars so check prices. Rascasse bar on Rascasse corner in the evening is terrific with great atmosphere. Pit lane visit on Friday mid pm a must (free for Grandstand Ticket holders) Got Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Button, Trulli and Kovalainen's signatures! Tribune K2 brilliant. Great view as they come towards you out of tunnell through chicane, then turn left in front of you and scream 200+ metres towards swimming pool. If high, you can also look over the back and see them coming to first turn. Back next year!

Most fantastic experience

Tribune N
By The Sams, 04 Jun 2011
We had the most fantastic and memorable weekend. On Friday we went to the circuit to visit the Pit Lane and were blown away when we realised we had the opportunity to walk the circuit. That was the most fabulous experience. Monaco is such a beautiful, glamorous place and words can not adequately express just how much we enoyed our vist and the whole experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Book F1 are on the money. A very professional company with good support. See you next year

Tribune K High
By Chris, 03 Jun 2011
Monaco is without doubt the star of the F1 World. We chose three different seating areas, Tribune B for Thursday, Tribune K for Saturday and Tribune T for race day.
All were good locations for different reasons, however Tribune K High was the best.
We stayed in Nice the train service was good on Saturday/Sunday, but Thursday/Friday was a bit adhoc. Food at or near the circuit was good and not OTT price wise. the pit lane walk was good on Friday saw a number of the drivers.A must do Grand Prix

Unforgettable day!

Tribune P
By Jorge, 03 Jun 2011
For me, it was very nice be there in Monaco. Everything was well organized, and there was tv screens, snacks and drinks very near our seats.

Two tiny problems: It was a very sunny day, and the seats were too hot, but it was not a big deal. And the ear plugs that I bought there were not good. If the sound loud is a problem, buy them before the race.

A great weekend!

Tribune N
By Linda Hammond, 03 Jun 2011
A fabulous weekend - but earplugs are a MUST (these can be purchased at the event - as can anything else you need).
At the actual weekend, we stayed in Nice (a fraction of the price of staying in Monte Carlo!) which is only 20 minutes away by train and cost 6 euros fare. The organisation at the station was very good - but it is worthwhile buying the train tickets the day before. When you arrive the queues look horrendous but they move so quickly! We went at about nine o'clock to watch all the races but if you only want to see the main one - going at midday gives plenty of time!

None of the stands provide sight of the start or finish and the cheaper ones have benches rather than seats but the views in N were as good as anywhere else!
The tribunes have no top so you need to be prepared for the weather - but brollies and caps can be purchased for a little more money than back at home. Likewise, there is no need to pack food as it is easily accesible and sandwiches cost about 5 euros from the stores.

Good seats in Tribune N. I'm so glad the sun and the slight breeze from the harbour was on our backs - not like Tribune K who must have baked!

circuit facilities

Tribune K High
By Deborah Heath, 02 Jun 2011
It took an hour to queue for the toilet, there was only one! A riot nearly broke out when somebody tried to jump the queue. There would have been a lot of women who would have missed the start I only just made it and I didn't want to eat or drink anything until after the race as I couldn't face that again. If it is so difficult to organise facilities within the circuit then there should be a warning before entering so that we can go elsewhere! However it was a great race, my first.

Monaco GP

Tribune N
By Buttonfan, 01 Jun 2011
Brilliant event, everyone should go to at least once.
Stayed in Nice, travel facilities to Monaco excellent, but remember to buy train tickets before race day to avoid crush at ticket office.Train service good.
If on budget, take food and drink as expensive in Monaco on race day.[Water 2.5 Euro,s for small bottle]
Ear plugs or defenders necessary if close to track.

Brilliant time in Monaco

General Admission - Rocher
By Tam, 01 Jun 2011
We had tickets for Rocher so we weren't expecting a great view but we arrived at about 10am and secured quite a good view overlooking the whole circuit. Monaco is just such an amazing experience, we absolutely loved it. Book F1 were brilliant, they sent emails all the way through and the email with an itinerary letting us know we could go on a pit walk on Friday was priceless. We wouldn't have known we could do that otherwise and we saw so many drivers and activity in the garages it was fabulous. We'll be back next year and we'll definitely use book F1.

Location arguments over place to occupy to watch race

General Admission - Z1
By Len Green, 01 Jun 2011
The Z1 tickets were in a great location but I had severe tension/difficulties with some German ticket holders who would not accept that there were no reserved seats and that my staying in a spot they considered theirs proved very awkward. The fact that they were not in the spot when I arrived - (an hour before the race) seemed irrelevant to them - they argued they had claimed the spot earlier!!!!!
Surely this kind of problem occurs a lot in non numbered seats. ALL areas should have numbers and each ticket a number - this would avoid these very distasteful and tense occurrences.

Monte Carlo Grand Prix

Tribune B
By Heritage, 01 Jun 2011
The Casino stand is the furthest away from where we landed, so access and egress were difficult due to the road closures and necessitated a lot of walking. Probably recommend staying until roads are opened at 7pm. If choosing a similar cruise\grand prix option will opt for a nearer viewing stand next year. Can only learn by being there!

Monaco 2011

Tribune K High
By F1 Bear, 01 Jun 2011
What a race! Caravelles Hospitality on Thursday - if you can afford it a good experience at a fraction of the cost of that for qualifying/race day but the best atmosphere was in the grandstands. Hospitality view was amazing, I would say about 3/4 of the circuit can be seen. Apart from 3 other guys who were Brits as well everyone else appeared to be German or Dutch.

Beware of Fanvision in Monaco - we had problems with ours over the weekend but at least managed to get it working on Saturday just in time for qualy 2 and all the race, there were a lot of people complaining when we returned it on Sunday pm - although that is a challenge in itself as the police had blocked all the access around the station which unfortunately is below where the office was for collection/return. We ended up having to go through barriers that had been erected to stop entrance because we were running out of time to return the fanvision and get back to the harbour for the boat to take us back to Nice. We believe that due to the location of Monaco there may be some transmission problems with this. We had a load of Americans around us, one who had purchased the new version of fanvision, and he couldn't get a signal all weekend!

Shame the race ended the way it did, it was so thrilling and were convinced JB was going to win until the accident which meant it was a parade for the last 6 laps.

All in all an excellent weekend and good to see the attendance was up. As Arnie says "I'll be back!"
