ITALIAN FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX

It was a great weekend which we really enjoyed. For a first experience with Formula One it was incredible. We really took the most out of it. We will redo it for sure one day. It was great to see Formula One behind the scene.
A great experience to be recommended to anyone watching F1 on TV.

The seats we had were fab, best in the house. My only "complaint" is that the access to the circuit isn't very well organised. Parking space is located far from the circuit but the worst part is that the shuttle buses don;t drop you off near the circuit. You still have to walk almost an hour to get to your seats. Of course i understand that the venue isn't easy to reach but I think this can be handled better.

But that's the only thing that was a bit of a problem.

Booking and delivery of tickets through bookF1 was straight forward and good value. Walk the pit lane on Thursday was good fun. The journey to the race track on Sunday was well organised at Milan Central railway station but the return trip was unpleasant to say the least because there was no queuing system at Biassono-Lesmo and the police were slow to control the crowd. Seat 144 in Vedano (24) is directly opposite the TV screen.

Great experience, it takes 2 hours to get to Monza from Milano as you have to take first the metro to the train station, then the train to Monza, then a bus to the circuit and then walk about 30 min. In addition, the high temperature and the thousands of people make this a hustle!
My seat was in Centrale. Great stand, however i was in Fila A which in my point of view is not very good as the banisters and people walking were destructing me from the race.

Overall and absolutely fantastic weekend! I understand the logistics of organising a F1 race must be difficult but I did encounter a few issues where I felt the service could be improved.

Getting to the track on Thursday for the pit walk was difficult. There was no shuttle bus from Monza station until Friday so therefore had to rely on public transport to get to the circuit, but at the time didn't know where or how to get there.

The train from Biassono to Milano Centrale after the race was a nightmare. Had to queue for 90 minutes. Trains could have had more carriages, they only occupied half the platform. Also, the trains would come from Centrale, go straight through Biassono before returning to Biassono 15 minutes later when we were actually allowed to board. I could see no reason why the train had to go farther up the track.

Well first and foremost a big thank you to bookF1.com, it was my first GP and it was superb. The tickets (x2) arrived by Fedex to my office on the Tuesday prior to the race weekend. Included was some information about the circuit, a race program and suggestions for parking and campsites.
The race itself was fantastic, we had General Admission tickets but went straight to the Ascari Essess and viewed the race from there, probably the best place for us in the cheap seats! there is a big monitor so that you can follow all the times and position changes and also a huge amount of exciting racing going into the Essess. You have to be there well before 8 am though if you want anywhere to sit, people get very territorial as a lot of them stay over night and guard their position with Zeal! you are made to feel extremely welcome though if you have been there from the ass crack of dawn like everyone else. Dont expect to be able to come in a few hours before the race and for people to just let you in, it get's massively crowded and you have to "earn" your spot! It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on though, everyone is singing, dancing, drinking and eating! it's a party!

Buying drinks and food inside is pretty pricey, a half litre can of Heineken was 6 Euro and a (admitedly very tasty) Sandwich cost between 7 and 9 Euro.

Make sure you have a hat, towels to sit on and sunscreen, but most of all bring a party atmosphere! it's going to be crowded loud and extremely hot but that's Monza.

Oh and there are plenty of toilet facilities, Some toilet roll and maybe alcohol gel (if you're a girl?) is needed though.

I enjoyed the whole weekend at the track. But the information and transportation and communication from central Milan was non existent. So that was the only dissapointment. There was nobody around to help or give out info. Very poor.

Very good experience

We had a wonderful time and our eats were great. We were based in Milan and it was a bit of a trek each day to get to n from the circuit, but more than worth it.

Fantastic weekend, aided by beautiful weather. Circuit well organised.
Tifosi friendly.

Could have done with a better result !!!!

Great position on the first corner I wouldnt sit any were else.Fantastic atmosphere with the Tifosi who were very friendly.The circuit is a long way from the train station so a free shuttle bus is put on each day but it is usually very hard to fit on.After two days of trying to catch the bus from the station we drove in from nearby Bergamo which was much easier with parking close to the track for only 10 Euros.

Despite following the Grand Prix on TV, this was the first time I had watched it live. My son and I enjoyed it immensely, it is an experience I will never forget.

The online booking system was good. The fact we could keep in touch with someone about our tickets,as we left home early, was invaluable. The tickets and information pack were well presented and informative.

It would have been nice to receive the full itinerary before we had made our travel arrangements, however, as we were not able to take advantage of Thursday's pit lane walk.

My wife bought the tickets for my 65th birthday. She said that when booking she thought the signs meant that I would be under cover(thinking about the weather (hot/wet), but there were no covered areas. Perhaps this could be made clearer on the online booking form.

I am in fair health, however, it should be made more clear to other travellers how tiring the days can be. Leaving the hotel early to allow for travel delays, the walk across the park and time to enter and find your seat takes its toll. Also, the height of the seats I just managed to climb up to ours.

My son is an aero-engineer and brought earplugs with him, which is also something you could advise in your literature.

All in all, it was a great experience and, being Italian, was made even more special when Ferrari won the race.

The weekend was amazing.. Great seats at a reasonable price. The only down side is walking round the circuit isnt easy due to it being in a national park but on the whole it was 5 stars!!

Fantastic weekend overall - we were there on honeymoon and this was our first GP visit. The city of Milan is beautiful and Monza is just 30mins from the city centre with free public transport on race day and a nominal train ticket fee otherwise (much quicker, easier and cheaper than the UK).

The circuit itself is brilliant - there are multiple entry/access points and numerous viewing stands for General Admission ticket holders. It's worth noting that the high fences might impede a youngsters view with these tickets but otherwise they're very good. You are free to roam the circuit and pick out the best vantage points.

We watched qualifying from the Parabolica (inside of track) and raceday from the Lesmo curves. The train stops right outside the entrance to Lesmo so this was ideal.

To aide the experience there was commentary in Italian and English with a live feed on massive monitors dotted around the circuit via the BBC.

The race itself was amazing - the live experience is something to savour - the cars are faster and louder than TV portrays and opting for the earplugs is essential.

As soon as the race ended the stewards opened the circuit to the public and we were able to walk on the legendary track. This is a great opportunity for photos and really makes you feel part of the day.

In all, we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, and the service from bookF1.com is excellent - the package is well presented with maps, itinerary of events, lanyards and ticket holders. The tickets were received well in advance of the weekend and email communications continued throughout. A first class service from bookF1, and we're already looking at 2011's provisional calendar for our second GP visit.

Excellent facilities at the track and so easy to get around the circuit. The staff and helpers around the circuit were so helpfull and knowledgeable.Great view at Ascari 16, however you do need to bring pads as you sit on concrete seats.
No problems bringing food and drink into the circuit.

This circuit is just so ahead of Spa..which we did last year.

Be prepared for a hike if you take the bus from the train station to the circuit, but on the other hand the Monza Park is beautiful ...

My wife and I basically planned our wedding and our honeymoon around the F1 race at Monza and we couldn't have had a better time. The race was great, the seats were outstanding, and our entire trip to Italy with this as the focal point was filled with memories to last 2 lifetimes.

Atmosphere at the race was very good, however they have a lot work to do to improve facilities on on the circuit. €90 for a very uncomfortable metal bench seems to be a lot also view wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Luckily there was a TV screen in front of the stand so you could see replays etc. There wasn't enough toilets for the whole day event. Food was ok but €8 for beer in plastic cup is far to expensive. Transport to the circuit was very good (trains from Milan and then shuttle bus to the track). However marking of the way to entrances was very poor. Luckily there was a lot of people so I could just follow the crowd.
