F1 Weekend

Bronze : T9
By Mal Jarvis, 28 Jul 2011
An absolute brilliant weekend all the qualifying and racing was good to watch. The tickets we booked were great and the view of thew race was good. The actual race was made better because Lewis hamilton won. Great venue aeveryone we met were friendly. Nurburg itself was busy with people but still managed to drink and eat well.

a cracking weekend

Bronze : T7
By nigel redfern, 28 Jul 2011
loved the pitwalk access on thurs as we had w/e tickets! good facilities at track however alot of walking around perimeter required as you only have access to your grandstand as circuit is sectioned off!! also be aware some grandstands are just concrete steps with numbers on...these are perfectly fine as racing cushions can be readily bought for 5 euros..but its got to be prepared!! excellent view from t7 as cars accelerate doen towards you then brake for hairpin then full view as they accelerate away up the hill towards schumacher s....a t.v screen was also visible from a distance but still of use to keep up with goings on!!! would defo go again!! Flawless service from bookf1 thank you so much!!!!

German GP

Gold : T3
By Les, 28 Jul 2011
Despite the poor weather we had an excellent weekend from the pit lane walk on Thursday afternoon to walking on the track after the race on Sunday. The facilities at the Nurburgring are excellent with proper tolets, shops, ect (take note Silverstone!!). Our seats in the pit straight grandstand were really good, although if I were to go again I would probably opt for T4a from where you can see more of the action. The only slight disappointment was that our 3 day grandstand tickets didn't allow us to sit in other grandstands for practice or qulaifying (which they do at Silverstone). Overall an excellent weekend.

Cold race, great view

Bronze : T7
By Lucy, 28 Jul 2011
T7 offers a good, cheap option to see the race. There is a TV screen in good view and you get to see the cars on track for quite a long time. Food on offer is poor, best to take a picnic. I would sit here again.

Great weekend, very poor seating

Bronze : T7
By Mr David bliss, 28 Jul 2011
The only thing that disappointed the six of us is that we paid for a seat and had to sit on a concrete step, it was not a seat,we had to buy seat pads, which were 10 euros each, it was not stated on your site about this otherwise we would have sat elsewhere. Thanks

German F1 Grand Prix Nurburgring

Bronze : T6
By Andy McIntyre, 28 Jul 2011
Impressive stands and facilities, lots to see and do before the events. Access to track was well managed.
Advice for future visitors - get a 'RingCard' as the food stands are cashless.
Shuttle bus from Koblenz to track was a reliable and hastle-free option, recommended.

Nurburgring Needs Tuning

Bronze : T7
By Elchinero, 28 Jul 2011
Background: Been to F1 GPs @ Spa, Monza, Hochenheim (2x), Phx (2x), Indy (8x), & Hungaroring (2x).
Nurburgring DESPERATELY needs complete map of access roads and parking lots: Total mystery.
T7 (et al?) seats were low-rise concrete steps 18-inches deep with no (simple) way in, or out, once 100% seated. Leg space was less than the CHEAPEST airliner; knees bent past 90-degrees. No drainage. Filthy, too. People rooting in trash bins for plastic and cardboard.
Plenty of clean toilets. No seating after buying food.
Will not return to venue.

A very well organised Grand Prix

Bronze : T9
By AJ, 27 Jul 2011
I've never known a Grand Prix with better road access. The map location implies that you may end up in long queues in country lanes, but the police and stewards are excellent at traffic management and the numerous free car parks allow you to park close to the track. The T8 seats close to the track look an excellent option as a more value bet. It's a shame that you have no access to any of the stands along the pit straight on practice day as you would at other Grand Prixs, but the excellent fan village (a proper permanent centre with excellent shops and exhibits) makes up for this. It is worth noting that the local terrain is very hilly, so those with problems walking up slopes (or make the daft decision to cycle to the Grand Prix, as we did one day) are advised accordingly! The Ring Card system for paying for food/drink only appears to apply to stalls once you've entered the ticketed area. In the fan village, you can pay by cash. It is worth noting that this track works a lot more like a football stadium than other circuits - your ticket only lets you into your own stand area on the Saturday and Sunday (e.g. no roaming within the turnstile area - you have to scan back out of the venue with your ticket to walk round to other areas of the circuit).

German Grand Prix Nurburgring

Silver : T8 Block F-K
By Nigel Boynton, 27 Jul 2011
An excellant weekend with the right result. We were on turn 8 which is the hairpin so you see plenty of the cars and action however large screen is a distance away so it is a bit difficult to see what is happening on rest of track. Facilities in that area are basic only a couple of hot food and drink stalls (you need a ring card to pay for items - a pre credited charge card you put the money on they take it off) portaloo tiolets which by Sunday afternoon were in a bad state. Plenty to do in area the Nordshelf was only open Friday night the Museum is good (although all audio visual displays are in German with no translation). The 'Ring' has become very commercialised in the last few years so prices are reflected. Also went to Schumacer family cart track which is about 50 miles away, good laugh but the 'World of Schumacers' display is very poor only a few photographs and race suits. Would definatley do the weekend again though

Not the best on T14

Green : T14 Standing
By Jerry Griffiths... Sheffield, 27 Jul 2011
As money is now tight I decided to take my son on the T14 stand which is just before the final turn..Not a great view but all can be seen on the giant screen...However toilets, food and drink can all be purchased....The big bonus was at the end of the race and being allowed onto the track to see the prize presentation..Run fast though or you will miss it..As I had a 3 day ticket I was able on the Friday practice sessions to visit other parts of the track..If you want a good place to watch the race from and value for money T6 is an option...Great views of many turns even able to see the cars wizz up the hill from the 180 curve at bottom end of the track..Camping is available from about £55 for 4 days but if you love to party then just behind T6 is Camping Mullenbach..The people here just love loud music, bonfires, beer and just having as much fun as they can...Get your Beer from the local Lidle and save pounds..One offer was 6 half litre bottles for only €1.29...We bought a few just to give away to the very hospitable Germans on the campsite..Even though the weather was at times cold with a little rain dont be put off...We had no problems during our 6 day stay and look forward to returning for the 2013 race...Booking with bookF1.com was easy and you are kept upto date with ticket info..See you there :)

German F1 Nurburgring 2011

Silver : T8 Block F-K
By E. M. Hemsley, 27 Jul 2011
We stayed at a proper campsite right next to the circuit, Camping am Nurburgring. If you like your home comforts this is great plenty of proper showers and toilets and hot water. Noisy like most GP campsites but thats something you come to expect at GP weekends, 20 minute walk to circuit and our seats, although much further walk if your in the main stand. Plenty of other camping around circuit but facilaties a bit basic, but cheaper on the pocket than our one. Pleasently surprised to find that some of the old concrete tiered stands at Tribune 8 /9 had been upgraded to proper stands with plastic seating, one of which we were in, improved view of track but also exposed you more to the some what inclement weather that was prevalent. But all in all a great race and a great weekend, and Lewis won.

Terrible smoking manner & rule

Gold : T4 Upper Tier
By Takeshi, 26 Jul 2011
We could enjoy wonderful F1 race, but we were suffering by tabaco smoke. Amazingly smoking was allowed in any place including tier seat. Since many people smoked in walking and at tier, we faced tabaco smoke continuously for several hours. Especially tier was terrible. We kept sitting to observe races on assigned seat, but smoke came from any direction to our face including my small child. I felt bad and an anticipating lady was almost barf.
I was shocked about German F1 grand prix, because I did not see this situation in Japanese F1 Grand prix.
Please improve this situation, and never happen again.

One on the list of 'must-do' circuits

T10a Upper
By Clare, 26 Jul 2011
Just had a great weekend at the Nurburgring. Directions to site are easy and clearly signposted. The circuit is modern and well equipped, lots of eating outlets, souvenir shops and concessions like Ferrari and Aston Martin. Lots of car parking, though some are a 20min walk away from the track and given the landscape of the area, it can sometimes be uphill! Also traffic is very slow going in, add on an extra hour to your journey just to travel the 28km from the Autobhan to the circuit! Plenty to do after the qualifying laps, including a concert, so well worth the weekend price ticket! Our seats in T10a were ok but T11 is a far superior location for some of the best action. Also the majority of the seats are uncovered and rows of concrete slabs, so bring clothing to cover rain and shine and a comfy cushion to sit on!

Good circuit - tickets good value compared with other circuits

Bronze : T10b
By Gavin Lyon, 26 Jul 2011
Good viewing stand but tv view poor and concrete seat steps uncomfortable. Suggest taking a cushion in this stand. However very good value for money as good fast track viewing with information tower showing accurate race positions by car number(vital with inadequate tv viewing)
Circuit facilities very good

Excellent race weekend :)

Green : T12 Standing
By Claire Edwards , 26 Jul 2011
Having been to other races before I thought it was superb at The Nurburgring. The shuttle bus service was dead easy to get around, there were great variety of restaurants and food stops, plenty of toilets - always clean - and the view of the race from the stand was great. Plus the wade itself was fantastic. Loved the weekend, would Definately come back next time!! :)

Race weekend evaluation

Bronze : T10b
By Hamiltonian, 26 Jul 2011
Overall a great weekend made even better by the result!
The food facilities at Nurburgring are basic - bratwurst sausage and fries are about all that's available (plus beer of course). There are plenty of toilets and they are spotlessly clean. The ticket included a bus trip around the circuit which was great insight of how steep the slopes are and how sharp the hairpins are. If you book tickets for any of the silver or bronze stands, take acushion or something soft to sit on because they are just numbered concrete steps and after a couple of hours your backside will be completely numb!
