New circuit very clean, with no atmosphere.

B1-B4

Least expensive travel is via subway system. However caution, subway maps list racing circuit as a stop, but it does not exist at this time. Nearest stop Beiyan Rd. is in middle of nowhere (no taxis etc). From there you walk to circuit, allow 1 hour for subway ride from downtown (Huangpu district) then allow another hours walk to the circuit.

Very limited number of vendors. Food selection is very limited (sandwiches etc). No beer gardens, but you can buy beer in cans. Unlike other race tracks, there is no reason to go to the track early.

Shanghai

B5-B8

Well China runs things differently to the rest of the world. The shuttle buses were not free, they were 5 quid each day. Lots of people took the metro for 60p, but they close the circuit station on Sundays, and the queue's were long. The tv screens were tiny impossible to read any text or numbers without taking photo's then zooming in. Could be alot better for the fans but there only seemed to be 60,000 there on Sunday so I guess they don't take it very seriously. Now I and many others aare stuck in China due to the volcano.

Excellent circuit, had a fantastic time for first F1 GP, pity it rained on race day.

We had a fantastic time at Shanghai GP. The tickets you sent came in plenty of time and the seats were excellent for the circuit and view as we were very high up. We would definatly book with you again and recommend you to friends.
Only dissapointing thing which is not your thought but they decided to start charging for what was meant to be a complimentary bus to the circuit.

It rained all day long :-(

B1-B4

I was in section B2.3 row 25 which was nice, and I had a very good view, but B2.1 would have been even better. Anywhere above row 26 will be quite windy, but the best view will be above row 20. Section B8 was the Fernando Alonso fan section if you're interested. Traveling to the track is typically by charter bus (about $9.00 US round trip) and takes about 60-90 minutes on the way there, and 90-120 minutes on the way back. All other travel options (taxi or limo) were over $400.00 US. But if you get 4-6 people together, the divided cost would likely be worthwhile, in my opinion.

Shanghai

General Admission C
By David, 20 Apr 2009
There was a long walk to stand C as the Chinese authorities were very reluctant to let people through.
More shops and eateries in more locations, toilets good.

Shanghai Grand Prix

Main A High
By marilyn, 23 Oct 2008
I thought it was great. Transportation to and from the track was great for an outsider. Not quite the nice track that Montreal is, food very scarce. Facilities scarce.

Learn How to say Bu-Yeow

G
By pgphoto, 23 Oct 2008
The racing was fabulous. It was my first F1 and I was blown away. I used to be a racing photographer and have been around loud, fast cars, but couldn't believe how wonderfully noisy the F1 cars are. Getting to the race on the shuttles is a bit tricky as they park wayyyyy out there and are not consistent. Take a snapshot of the bus you were on and your surroundings to find your way back to the right bus...there are thousands of them. In Shanghai, you single guys, don't even let the girls take you to go get a drink or a meal or tea...it'll cost ya. Unless that's what you are looking for. I didn't fall for it, but took one to McDonald's. The next night, she brought 2 friends and tried to get me to buy them all dinner and drinks. I left. She came with me and just wanted some new shoes. Uh, no. I gave her 50 yuan to leave me alone. Overall, China is way cool. Go.

Great experience

Main A High
By C "Speedy" T, 22 Oct 2008
The tickets were the best, great view, was able to see the action since it was high enough to see most of the circuit. The facilities, the people, the organization was excellent. The trip around the world to see the race was worthy. Shanghai is such a beautiful city that I was blown away.

Bad Hotel

G
By Mike Manley, 22 Oct 2008
Everything okay apart from hotel in Shanghai where we were ripped off and threaterned with the police if we did not pay the extra charge which we never had. This spoilt the whole weekend.
Would not recommend the Baileman Hotel to anyone.
