Airport

All domestic and international flights land at Montreal's Pierre Elliott-Trudeau International Airport, situated 22km west of the city. If you are not hiring a car, taxi rides into town take about half an hour and are inexpensive.

Accommodation

The circuit is located on the edge of Montreal and so this is the best place to stay. The city offers a range of accommodation, tipping slightly towards the upper end of the market. However, if you book enough in advance you should be able to find something to suit your budget.

Getting to the Circuit

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is situated on the edge of Montreal on an island. Its proximity to the city provides a good range of transport options. You may want to consider the following:

• Train - You can take a train to Montreal's main station. From here you will need to transfer to the circuit using another form of transport.
• Metro - The metro runs throughout the city and stops at the circuit at Jean-Drapeau station. This is the most popular way to reach the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve but please be aware there is a 10-25 minute walk depending on your stand location.
• Boat - A boat runs from Montreal Quays to the island. Check http://www.navettesmaritimes.com for more information.
• Bus - The autobus also runs through the city to the circuit. However, busy Grand Prix traffic may mean it is slower than usual.
• Taxi - Taxis can go to and from the circuit. Try to arrange a pickup in advance to avoid waiting around at the end.
• Car - There is no parking directly at the circuit. If you need to drive, leave your car in the suburbs and use another form of transport to reach the circuit.

If you're crossing the border into Canada from the USA, please remember to bring your passport and to allow extra time for the border crossing.
