Canada Weekend

Podium Restaurant
By Dr. Guillermo J. Molina, 13 Jun 2011
View of race: fairly good to see the start/finish line, turn 1 was a bit blocked, but being at the end of the front straight was very exciting.

Access to circuit: all of the infrastructure was there: bus from the metro to the casino and then ferry service across the pond to our location. The BIG problem her was that your cover letter did not mention the bus and the ferry was a passing comment. For next year, you should include actual details on how to get around. For example: Bus 167x can be found at the bus stop next to the park cafe', exit the metro station to the left and then go to the far left side of the cafe'.

Wait Staff: outstanding. no complaints.
Food: fine menu and preparation. Afternoon snacks would have been very welcome since lunch is served at noon but the race program continues to 6pm.

Possible venue improvements

Bronze 33
By David, 13 Jun 2011
Overall the Montreal race venue is excellent but here are some suggestions.
- keep ticket sellers etc distant from subway entrance/exit to avoid congestion
- Designate special place for ticket dealing (They'll be doing it anyway & this might help prevent forgeries and keep prices appropriate.)
- More and larger signs giving directions, routes, & maps erected high overhead in area around subway.
- The NR22 ear-cup hearing protectors being sold are not adequate for weekend F1 noise exposure. Better hearing protectors should be offered for sale, perhaps as a 'premium' alternative. I think hearing protection should be advertised extensively throughout the venue.
- Section numbers were not marked INSIDE grandstand seating and people were getting confused about where to sit.

Disapointing weekend for price I paid.

Senna Suite
By Paul Wiedemann, 13 Jun 2011
Excessive walk to track
Boats were very wet on 3rd day
No control over front row people in senna suite - they stood and blocked the view from upper row tables.
Very limited view of track
TVs provided were small - sound was distorted even when the track was quiet.
Food was ok but just a few buns do not qualify as breakfast.
Limited displays at the venue, nothing to do at the track between events, I saw a lot of excessive drinking and even fighting.
How about more automotive displays.

Excellent seats for the race. Nice track with easy accessiblility.

Bronze 34
By Christine Hardenberger, 13 Jun 2011
We truly enjoyed the race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. The seats were excellent with great views of the track. Bring binoculars, though, so you can keep up with the rest of the race. The jumbo tron is too small to see clearly without them.

The track itself is easily accessible via Metro and, even with the large crowds, transportation was efficient.

Overall, a great experience.

Ban smoking within the stands!

Gold 1
By Sean Spinks, 04 Sep 2010
This was the third time I visited the Montreal Grand prix and am happy to have the event back!

Having said that the price of food and beverages sold compared to the quality served doesn't match. Being sat within the Gold 1 area and having access to the VIP reserved area was a disappointment; I paid $500 per ticket and had to drink a bad glass of wine served at the wrong temperature. Come on organizers, your guests know a little about wine….

Smoking must be banned from all stands, it is both a fire hazard and health hazard. The large screens need to be improved upon, we have a better set-up at home.

In my opinion when we purchase our tickets on-line we should be able to choose our tickets, unlike the lucky draw currently.

The portable toilets should be cleaned much more frequently, the smell was disgusting.

Overall my wife and I enjoyed the weekend and will be back in the future.

canadian grandprix

Silver 11
By Jon Connelly, 04 Aug 2010
I thought Book F! did an excellent job with ticket selection. I had a seat on the aisle within the top 5 rows of the grandstand in section 11. The view was excellent from the starting grid all the way down and out of turn 3.

The only negative on the weekend was the limited access to the track through public transportation. The subway was overwhelmed with people trying to leave the event. It took me over 4 hours to exit the track and get back to downtown Montreal.

Any information about a utilizing the ferry from old montreal would have been very useful up front and could have saved me considerable time entering and exiting the event all weekend.

The big screen across the grand stands was not really very big and it was hard to follow the race! Other than that I had a great weekend.

Book F1 were extremely helpful, even when US customs lost my friends tickets.

Would advise not to go General Admission as access is very poor.

F1 Montreal 2010

Bronze 22
By Robin from Nelson BC, 04 Jul 2010
Over all we had a good time, but there was too much second hand smoke. We went to Silverstone England last year and there was 'no smoking' in the grandstands and very little walking around the disply booth.
I believe F1 could recommend no smoking in stands and have designated smoking areas
Prices were high for food and pop, $4.50 for a Coke was way too much......
But the weather was great and we had a good time

Over all it was a good experience, although breathing second hand smoke was a problem. Expecially in the stands. We attended Silverstone last year and there was no smoking in the stands and very little walking around the display booths.
I believe F1 could have input on smoking and recommend no smoking in stands and have designated smoking areas.
Prices for pop, etc were very high, $4.50 for a bottle of Coke was way too much. . . .
thanks

Seating

Silver 11
By Aunit Tammy, 30 Jun 2010
The organisation at the circuit was very good and I was impressed on how quickly the spectators manged to be dispersed. The only thing I was disappointed in was that we were unable to choose seats within the ticket type. I think it would be fair if you book early you should get this advantage.

Canadian Grand Prix 2010 - Welcome back!

Gold 2
By Trace1, 26 Jun 2010
So pleased this race is back in the calendar! When I've gone to races in the past I usually only go to the main Sunday race but this time I bought a 3 day ticket which was fantastic. There was so much going on at the track every day.

The view from our stand (Gold 2) was superb. Our seats overlooked the starting grid (roughly position 14/15) and we had a clear view of the pits. It was really easy to get to the track and the set up/amenities were first class.

Top Tips
For anyone booking this stand next year - it is one of the furthest away so allow a little extra time to get there. There is a roughly a 20 min walk when you come out of the metro station.

Accommodation - stay around the Latin Quarter in Montreal. The track is only one stop on the Metro from there.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Canada (made all the better by Lewis winning!!) and as usual the customer service from BookF1.com was great.
