BRITISH FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX 2012
You may wish to consider the following for planning your race weekend travel to Silverstone Circuit:
Parking
To park your car at Silverstone is free on Friday, but for Saturday and Sunday either a circuit parking pass or Park and Ride must be booked in advance, to avoid a fixed penalty parking fine. Official circuit parking is located on the Luffield and Abbey side of the circuit, or the independently run Whittlebury car park located near Copse and Becketts may be preferable for some customers.
Park and Ride allows you to park at a designated car park off the M1 or M40 and take the shuttle bus to the circuit. Please note: from 2012 Park and Ride has a charge per vehicle parking pass (the shuttle bus is free). Please select the number of vehicle parking passes required (not the number of people) and a shuttle bus pass will automatically be provided for each entry ticket you have.
Motorbikes park free at the circuit over the entire weekend and do not need parking passes.

Train
Take the train to Northampton train station and from there you can board the shuttle bus to the circuit. The shuttle bus runs at regular intervals and is payable on the day but cannot be pre-booked.
Taxi
Taxis go into the circuit but because the A43 road is redirected as a one-way, you will need to book the taxi for the full day and buy car parking. Alternatively, you can get dropped off in Silverstone village and walk to the circuit (approximately 15 minutes), but make sure your taxi driver knows the route to avoid getting stuck in the one-way system.
Helicopter
Helicopter transfers are a great way to enter the circuit and avoid the traffic. Simply park your car at the pick-up location, enjoy a welcome breakfast before departure and then fly in and out of the circuit over the weekend. Walking
If you are camping or staying close to the circuit then it may be possible to walk to the circuit. Check with your accommodation provider for possible routes.
