BRAZILIAN FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX
Powered by Hotels.com
Introduction
The Interlagos track is 16km south of Sao Paulo’s city centre and provides the drivers and engineers with many challenges, not least because the track runs in an anti-clockwise direction and is at high altitude.
Airport
Guarulhos International Airport is 40km from the circuit, on the opposite side of the city of Sao Paolo. The city centre is about 28km from the airport and can be easily reached by road. Petrol is expensive in Brazil so those on a budget may prefer to get the bus over a taxi.
Accommodation
The circuit is located on the edge of Sao Paolo and so this is the best place to stay. The city offers a range of accommodation to suit all budgets.
Getting to the Circuit
You may want to consider the following for travel to the circuit:
- Train - The Autodromo overground station is located about 600 metres from the circuit entrance. For visitors staying in Sao Paulo, a popular route is to take the metro to Presidente Altino station near Osasco and then changing on the overground to Autodromo station.
- Bus - Bus services run from all over the city, usually from the public parks, to the circuit on Grand Prix weekend.
- Taxi - Taxis go to and from the circuit. Try and book it through your hotel to ensure a reputable company, and arrange a pickup in advance to avoid waiting at the end. This may be a preferable method for tourists.
- Car - There is no parking directly at the circuit and so you will have to search nearby for a parking opportunity. However, please keep in mind that your car may not be safe in an unknown street.
