Spa from a distance

Bronze: General Admission
By john, 05 Sep 2011
Book F1 service as good as always but if I go back to Spa then it will be to a grandstand. Viewing this year on a general admission ticket was very limited and parking on the saturday was miles away.
Great race and atmosphere just disappointed with the view

Belgium Grand Prix

Gold: 2 GP2
By Barbara Hunt, 04 Sep 2011
Really enjoyable...only downside was the walk from the car park and the amount of time it took to get in and out of the car park

Weekend at Bernies in Belgium

Bronze: General Admission
By Kurrie, 04 Sep 2011
Wow!!!
Twice Ive been to the Belgium GP and twice Ive had an Amazing time.
The camping facilities are great, clean shower blocks and plenty of porta loos that again are cleaned at least daily.
The night time entertainment isnt up to much but the few bars and extremely friendly atmosphere is just enjoyable and more than enough.
Lots of viewing on the 'general admission' tickets and great big TVs to watch in a great atmos.

One small issue.... 1st visit it took us 3 hours to get out the camp site and on to the E42, this time we left bang after the end of the race, and was on the E42 within 10 minutes, so either leave asap after the race or be happy to have a little wait.

Good weekend

Bronze: General Admission
By Kirsty Herricks, 04 Sep 2011
We had a really good weekend, everything went smoothly, we found everything we needed and everthing ran on time. I wouldn't go back to this grand prox in the future however because I found the track facilities a bit lacking. No food hut opened until around half 10 when we were there from half 7. There were no after race entertainment like at Silverstone.

Great time -but difficult journey back from the circuit if you're relying on a local bus

Silver: 2 Spa
By Ed and Hannah , 03 Sep 2011
Good value for money view from Silver 2 of the straight by the GP2 pit lane and the famous steep uphill section into Eau Rouge but we may go for a covered grandstand next time! You can take your own food and drink into the circuit - and be warned a small cone of chips and mayo inside the circuit will set you back 6 euros.

We stayed near Malmedy and caught a local bus to the circuit. It was easy getting there (TEC bus 395 from outside the Cathedral takes about 20mins) but a nightmare getting back. On qualifying day we waited over an hour outside the circuit (the driver had told us he could pick us up near our entrance) but the bus never came. We then asked a policeman who told us to walk to Francorchamps village. After a 45 min walk through the rain we found the bus stop and waited another hour or so and eventually the bus arrived. However on Sunday we did the same waited ages, the bus never came and eventually we were told the 395 was not running back in our direction on race day and we were advised to go to Verviers and get another bus from there! In the end we managed to share a taxi back from Francorchamps to Malmedy between five of us for 45 euros -something to seriously consider for the future if you're going by local bus!
PS Really annoyed Lewis crashed out!

Great Weekend

Silver: 2 Spa
By Alex, 02 Sep 2011
Great weekend, service from Book F1 was excellent. Only negative - when booked circuit map and tickets outlined a "Giant Screen" directly opposite the grandstands we were sat in; "Giant Screen" was in fact much smaller than the other screens set up at the circuit and set at the apex of Eau Rouge - substantially to the left of the granstand. Bit less of a view than expected and a bit of a sore neck.

Otherwise highly recommended.

Race day

Bronze: General Admission
By Brian Hall, 02 Sep 2011
Generally very good weekend. Watched the race from Eau Rouge, very good. Difficult walking circuit with all the inclines. Unfortunately, my daughter strained her back with all the walking and dampened her experience. Although she did very much enjoyed it. We actually did go all 3 days. Stopped in Brussels and travelled by Train and Local Bus first two days. Had Bus transfer from Brussels on Race Day. The Train is the best option.

noisy neighbouring campsites and unhelpful police

Bronze: General Admission
By richie boy, 01 Sep 2011
access tricky as main motorway exit closed and little help from police to find out alternative route; campsite rather basic for the price; although our campsite pretty quiet, campsites very close were noisy e.g. some guy revving a bike at 2-3am just to annoy people! so most campsites in walking distance will be somewhat noisy regardless of what their websites say, but vehicle access and exit after the race looked pretty awful, so being in walking distance definitely good idea - just bring good ear plugs! get up early for good race spot if general admission, and bring a chair!

very good curcuit

Bronze: General Admission
By Huw Rogers, 01 Sep 2011
Possible the best curcuit in the world and what a amazing setting. The facilities need updating(toliets/food) and if you are a bronze ticket holder then I would advise on the best waterproof equipment you can carry, we learnt the hard way!
The Stavelot road entry was blocked on Thursday and there are no taxi's so we missed the pit walk and meet and greet (L'Eau Rouge campsite). There is another way but unless you have a car its a 15km walk to the main entrance. as a bronze ticket holder i would advise on getting to the track for at the latest 8.30 to guarantee a good viewing position. After the race we got to walk on the track and that for an F1 fan was amazing. I would advise to visit this track if you are a true fan! I will be returning.

Great

Gold: 9 Pole Position
By Jana, 01 Sep 2011
Spa Grand Prix is awesome, The view from this place is good, you can see a little bit of boxes, in front of you is big screen, so you can watch whole race. the only problem is, that noone can speak english, so when you're lost, you can't ask ;-).

Spa 2011

By Geoff-W, 01 Sep 2011
Why are tickets issued so late. They only arrived a week before the event which limits your ability to plan a holiday around the weekend. Also improve the phone service at Book F1.....I've used you for three years and on that time I've never been able to get you directly on the phone. I appreciate you call back but this is not always convenient.

F1 from Silver 2 Spa

Silver: 2 Spa
By Colin , 01 Sep 2011
The Silver 2 stand is at the end of the first short straight, before the S-bend up the hill, the opposite side to the start grid and finish line. The view is excellent and you can see the cars exit the first corner, accelerate down the straight in front of you, change down and blast up the hill before disappearing over the brow to drive the long straight. Plenty of time to track the cars and take photos and the noise is great too as you can hear the cars heading towards the pits on the opposite side of the track. Silver 2 is also right next to the F1 village where most of the food and merchandise stands are located. The large TV screen is a big help in following the race when the cars go out of view. Silver 2 is an open stand and I would recommend waterproofs, warm clothing and an umbrella as the weather at Spa is extremely changeable and lived up to its reputation with a full mix of hot sun and pouring rain. One last comment about the food; although the burgers, sausages, chips are very nice, it is the only option and all of the food stands seem to sell exactly the same food. Being at Spa for a full 3 days it would have been nice to have some choices and a variety of food. There are however plenty of drink options with good coffee, tea, beers and soft drinks all readily available. Overall a fantastic experience.

Spa 2011 - Could it be the best race of the season?

Silver: 3 Combes
By Jim, 31 Aug 2011
Race was great. Spa circuit is in a fantastic setting. View from Combes was pretty good, but some of the bronze areas probably offered more action. We soaked up the atmosphere and got soaked in the rain as expected. Yellow camping was great for access to the limited facilities in Francorchamps town which only had 2 small shops and 3 restaurants. The site facilities were very basic (as expected) but Monday morning was interesting as the toilets were not emptied on the Sunday!! All negatives outweighed by the positive experience of watching a great GP live.

Belgian GP

Bronze: General Admission
By Gary Scottorn, 31 Aug 2011
Bronze is definitely budget ticket, there is very limited space for the high number of bronze ticket holders. You will be lucky to see much of the race. Strongly suggest that any grandstand is minimum requirement to see GP at this circuit.

Excellent racing and great racecourse

Gold: 8 Source
By Gary - IOM, 31 Aug 2011
We had tickets for the 3 days and was undercover which was fantastic. Had a view between La Source and up Eau Rouge. Also had a view of the GP2 paddock and the pit girls between races! Food a little pricey but to be expected at these sort of events. Although had to pay 70 cents for the toilets (not portaloo), they were clean and well organised. Parked at red 25 which was about 10 min walk to the track for 10 euro. Took about 1 hour to clear the traffic on race day on the way home, but easy to park. Would recommend staying in Aachen than Liege. 40 mins to the track and a lovely city to relax in.

Poor viewing facilities for general admission

Bronze: General Admission
By Mike Dearlove 07968 027468, 31 Aug 2011
With a little investment the viewing experience in general admission area could be significantly better. Cutting steps into the banking & leaving access points clear to the steep banking rather than having to fight through 6 deep chairs at the top.
Catering facilities very limited & poor value.
Wasps a major problem 50% of our group got stung.
Monza was a much better experience & better value
