Great Spa Experience

Bronze: General Admission
By Ross Vinten, 28 Sep 2011
Firstly, the service and price from BookF1.com were both great. The tickets arrived promptly as promised.

We just went for race day tickets due to the weekend being in the middle of a Euro-drive holiday which emcompassed Alpine passes and the Nurburgring.

In short, the access to Spa is a pain - small country roads and the parking is in a steep gradient muddy field. Getting out of the area is even more of a nightmare - set aside a good couple of hours to find your way back to the motorway!

That's the bad points out of the way. The circuit itself is awesome. We went for general admission tickets and walked the whole of the track several times throughout the day. It's steeper than it looks on TV! Getting to see (almost) every corner this way was better than being stuck in a grandstand we felt. Yes, the food is expensive (we took some of our own in with us) and yes the toilets are pretty rank by the end of the day (but hey, it's like a festival!). All in all a great day out at F1.

Fantasic

Silver: 2 Spa
By Rachael Shaw, 25 Sep 2011
Fantastic tickets, seated at the Pit Exit between La Source and Eau Rouge. As always a great atmosphere at this circuit. I liked that fact that we had toilets that had to be paid for, making them clean and bareable, unlike the normaly portable loos. I heard a lot of people moaning about having to pay, but i was more then happy to do so over the course of the 3 days.

For the first time we did the Pit Walk on the Thursday, which we've not bothered with previously and after our experience probably won't again. It was very crowded and far too many people squahsed down the pit wall. A lot of people don't care who they push out the way with big rucksacs on their backs to get a photo of the F1 Drivers. We had to fight our way out of the crowd, as i'm pregnant and was worried about getting pushed over or hurt as people pushed themselves through the crowd.

Parking as always was a bit hit & miss. Thursdy and Friday were okay, as there were fields very close to the circuit that we could park on. On the Saturday & Sunday the police had closed some of the roads and we had to go via a different route which meant parking a lot further away, which meant a lot of up and down hill walking.

Overall a fantastic 3 days, we always enjoy our visit to this circuit

Whole weekend

Gold: 2 GP2
By David, 22 Sep 2011
This was part of a Europe wide trip fitting in on the journey back home. We stayed in Holland with about a 60 Km trip back and forth, but parking at 10 euros a day not a great issue except on raceday when we were out in the boonies!! Facilities at the circuit were 'basic' even in the areas of 'gold' ticketing, food was OK to be fair but all very 'samey'. This has to be one of THE circuits to see, even though its thro' forest the atmosphere and mix of nationalities and ages was something to experience. Be prepared for the weather - although we were in covered stands so not an issue for us except for the hike to/from the car. The fanvision/kangaroo was a definite enhancement of the weekend and the bonus of a big screen opposite our seats gave us the 'full coverage', along with the view from La Source thro' Eau Rouge. A great weekend enjoyed by us all.

Belgium Race Weekend

Bronze: General Admission
By Mathew Cook, 17 Sep 2011
Personally, i had one of the best weekends of my entire life. The view of the circuit, as with most bronze access tickets was average. The food on offer again was average at best. However, the circuit itself has a sense of history and aura all of its own, i would recommend a Spa Francorchamps weekend to anybody. Access to the circuit by car was superb. Plus i would recommend a day out in the town of Spa itself. Just deciding which race to attend in 2012!

Spa is one of the best race tracks, but the circuit facilities are poor. Take your own bottled water and toilet roll!

not good

Steel Zone: General Admission
By a barber, 11 Sep 2011
camping was the worst i have ever seen. only one shower as they could not get any water to the portable ones, the toilets... there is no word for them, and this was the better one of the two you offered.the walk we were told about 80 mt, this took about half an hour to the main gate then a 15 m walk to bronze,
and the rain did not help. would not book this again.or inprove the camp,

Amazing spa

Gold: 6 Chicane
By SpudGP, 10 Sep 2011
Another wonderful weekend in this amazing place,Great viewing with lots of action on the last corner and covered from the rain. Front row seats would be better as there are a few heads in the way. Great access to the podium right after the race.

fabulous experience

Bronze: General Admission
By liz ince, 07 Sep 2011
The view was amazing. The toilet facilities were dreadful and were removed before most people had left after the race. I was disappointed that I couldn't buy any souvenirs with Belgium GP 2011 on only team and driver souvenirs

Belgium Grand Prix

Gold: 1 Pit
By Pokeez, 06 Sep 2011
The race track does not disappoint. I went for all three days and enjoyed it thoroughly. There is no race track like it.

Parking was an issue close to the track and would say that you should book in advance to ensure that you get a space near the race. There are other parking sites around for camping, but all typically will cost 10 euros per day on the day. The food was okay, but there is more variety outside of the race track and at a more reasonable price. Also leaving on race day can be a struggle to get out of Spa so please leave enough time between flight or train journey to allow you to get back from the race.

The weather is very unpredictable, it rained on Friday and Saturday, but was sunny on Sunday. Make sure that you have an umbrella and wear or carry something warm.

Carefully considered where you sit as a result of the unpredictable weather, even some covered seats in the gold pit area can be prone to seeing rainfall

Belgian Grand Prix

Fantastically well organised, maybe they should send the organisers of the British GP to see how it is done.

Only had one problem when misdirected by a Police Woman on race morning.

Excellent Weekend - exceeded expectations

Gold: 2 GP2
By Martin Duffy, 05 Sep 2011
Our Group of 3 visited Spa for our 1st ever Grand Prix this year. Having read the 2010 reviews, our expectations were clear regarding the weather, food and access to the track. However, I'd have to say that pre-booked Gold Seats in the covered stand was a real treat - we avoided the rain, had great views from La Source right past Eau Rouge and had easy access to the food and the toilets. We expected the fast food but it was pleasant and a real treat - Belgian waffles and Fries just added to the occasion - there are 51 other weekends of the year to eat salads etc. I was glad to have clean toilets and the 0.70c fee was a small price to pay for a clean toilet with so many people around. Access wise, it all worked out well - we took exit 10 off the motorway from Verviers and drove until we could go no further and got parking right next to the Pub / Restaurant nearest the track so we ended up with a 20 min walk via the Merchandise stalls and straight into our Seats. In fact on Sunday, our parking was even closer as we avoided walking through mucky fields and and parked next to the road. Accomodation wise, we opted for Aachen which meant a 45 min drive to the circuit - we got off to a bad start having our hire car broken into - this meant an interesting diversion into Liege on the Friday to replace the hire care and missing some of the practice but after that drama, the weekend was excellent - we had a delay of an hour or so to get out of the carpark on the Sunday but it was great to walk on the track and pick up an autograph from Jerome D'Ambrosio along the way....hopefully he will be world champion some day !!. The Merchandise was pricey but easily accessible. Racing wise, the view was excellent and seeing the cars at least once from the view at the bottom of Eau Rouge is a must do.........Overall, very memorable, no complaints and well worth the price !

Campsites

Bronze: General Admission
By Simmo-G, 05 Sep 2011
Changed campsites this year and booked the yellow site. Vast improvement on the previous year (red) - a lot quieter and no visits from the fire brigade! Directions to the campsite were awful and junction 10a was not open - not helping the situation!

Big plus of yellow campsite was access to Francorchamps - butchers, bakery and beer - all at major mark-ups. Fresh bread and top kebabs made the evening more pleasant.

Only problem with the campsite was that the showers weren't open on Sunday evening or Monday morning

Bronze: General Admission
By Ben Wright, 05 Sep 2011
I have always wanted to go to spa and it didn't disappoint. It was a fantastic experience even though I only had a bronze ticket. This was because of the spectular setting of the circuit and usual intense atmosphere of a GP with noise and smells! Given it's location and climate you really got the impression we were all hard core fans. A very different experience from the sun and glamour of Valencia! I negotiated the problem of a limited view by hiring a kangaroo tv which I highly recommend.
Advice for your website:
- clearer info about the free transfer coaches (I took mine from Luxembourg). Exact location of the departure location would be good as would be a rough idea of the journey time. This would help people judge which city/country they want to stay.
- the facilities were terrible. Food awful. Your website does mention this but it should be stressed more. A longed for a packed lunch and went most of the day with only a hot-dog and waffle. The toilets were a joke - I've never seen more people peeing in the woods!
Despite the problems this was a dream weekend for me and in some ways the problems of the circuit added to the magic of being there - this is not for a pert-time fan!
Your service, as I have experienced before, was nothing short of brilliant. I will be booking with you next year.

A fantastic day out

Bronze: General Admission
By David B, 05 Sep 2011
Only went for the race day itself but what an amazing experience.

Took my 10 year old son for what was our first live GP. Booked general admission and spent the day on the Kemmel Straight opposite the big screen. The view from this area is amazing as it looks out over the circuit so you get to experience the raw speed of the cars and also see them going through the bus stop and onto the pit straight.
Green parking was ideal, we got there at 06:30 so the traffic was very light. However, do be prepared for long tail backs when leaving the circuit. Our journey back to Holland where we were staying took 2 1/2 hours longer than the journey there.
Can't comment on the food at the circuit as we packed our own for the day.
Would also suggest packing cloths for all conditions, it may have looked sunny on the TV but there was quite a cool breeze, at least it stayed dry!
If you are thinking of going to Spa, stop thinking about it and get there (and booked with BookF1!).

Brilliant Once Again

Gold: 1 Pit
By Dianne, 05 Sep 2011
Second year running for us at Spa: Eau Rouge was magic last year, the Pit Grandstand was even better this year. We had a brilliant time and are already planning next year's trip. The beauty of this year was that after last year we knew about and explected the rain, the long walks to the car parks, the queues to get out each day, the price of the food, toilets, etc, so had prepared for all of that and just concentrated on having a great time and enjoying the race.
