Great time!!

4 Corner - Clark
By Danny S, 25 Jan 2012
Travelled over from UK and had brilliant time, loved 4-corner being able to see a different stand each day, made everything all the better. Bring water and a hat, transport on tram was perfect, really good weekend and service from bookf1

A great experience

Fangio
By Timaru Ferrari suppporter, 28 Nov 2011
Thoroughly enjoyed the complete weekend apart from my view of the track.
I was 2 rows up in the Fangio stand in front of starting grid 10.
The cars moved so fast past my seat I almost twisted my neck off my shoulders but there was a TV screen not too fart away.
Have bought premium Fangio stand ticket for 2012 weekend, looking forward to Melbourne again.
A very well run event, all volunteers need a medal.

Very sub standard on the world stage...

General Admission
By Not happy., 12 Nov 2011
I have attended many GPs world wide and Id have to say that being an Australian I am disgusted at some features of this event.

The cars, the suport races and the access to the track is great!

Its the facilites and food/beverage that was a total joke.

Old over priced hotdogs, soggy crappy chips... Seriously if I wanted a hotdog Id go to 7eleven before id eat these ones... Shame.

The toilet facilities were a total disaster, over crowded and a total mess!!

Where is the security and crowd control??? I witnessed fights breaking out in the general areas, there are kids presant!!! Its a joke.

I now go to the Singapore Grand Prix every year as i feel safer, the food is FANTASTIC!!!!!! 5 STAR menus! AT THE TRACK.. And I can go to the toilet with out having to unblock it or hold it closed with my foot.

The musical entertainment is also outstanding in Singapore.. I watched LIVE Shakira! Shaggy! and Linkin Park! FREE!!! with my general addmission ticket!

Melbourne F1 GP organisers, stop complaining about the loss of money and do a better job.

Australian Grand Prix

General Admission
By Ross, 29 Sep 2011
This was my first Grand Prix, and I have to say that it was amazing. For those who don't want to spend much money on tickets, I highly recommend just getting a General Admission ticket, you can pretty much walk around the whole circuit, and there are many grass mounds so you can get a good view. Viewing areas are also really close to the track, so you can get a close look at the cars. The support categories are also entertaining and worth a look, particularly the Aussie V8s.

The free trams to and from Melbourne were easy to catch, but it was extremely busy on race day, expect to wait for a while unless you want to leave early. Food and merchandise was expensive, but it is Formula 1 after all. Will be going back next year, and I recommend the Australian Grand Prix to everyone!

Excellend weekend and organisation

By Kerstin Fromm (now married - Kerstin Paddon), 21 May 2011
It would have been nice to listen to the band at the last concert day with a general admission ticket without having to pay extra money. But organisation, public transport, food and events others than the formula 1 itself were great!

Albert Park

4 Corner - Fangio
By Mo, 12 Apr 2011
Aussies have this sussed excellent transport structure and facilities.Disappointed with the seat for Sunday as in row B and our vision was affected by a double row of fencing. The advantage bar was so packed unable to gain access. If you are giving an incentive to book early restrict the numbers please!

Great 4days

Fangio
By A. McAllister, 07 Apr 2011
The Australian Grand Prix turned out fantastic. Might not go back to Fangio stand, we were seated to the right looking from the pits, some of the other stands on the corners would be my next choice for another time. Pit lane walk a bit of a joke, you saw more at night ater the podium, there was no activity in the garages that had there doors open in the morning. The access to the Porche garages were exellent . There was not much variety in the food line.

Melbourne 2011 GP

By Gail Lumley, 05 Apr 2011
This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from a race point of view. Unfortunately nothing could be done about the weather which was wet and cold for the first 3 days. The transport to and from the race circuit was well organised although the queue to return back by tram could have been better dealt with through gate 1. The seats we had in the stand were in the middle of the tiering which interupted the eyeline as this was directly in line with the top of the fencing - not ideal. There was a minor issue with the merchandising as I paid A$35 for a t-shirt which when I washed it the diamante fell off.

Great Track

Senna
By Jenny, 04 Apr 2011
Having been to Barcelona and Silverstone in the past I was really impressed by Albert Park. The view from the Senna grandstand was great - we could see the entry to the pit lane as well as the final corner and part of the main straight. Directly across from a big screen as well (this was block A, others blocks were not so close) Although there were plenty of people there was enough open parkland so you didn't feel crowed and no queues for toilets! The only gripe I had was the queuing system for the tram on Sunday night - there didn't really seem to be one and it took an hour to make our way through the scrum (that said, the trams were plentiful once you made it to the platform).
Great service from Book F1 as well - there was a delay on ticket printing which meant we had to collect from the course rather than have them posted but we were keep well informed throughout. The pit lane access on Thursday and entrance to the GP Advantage bar was also a bonus we didn't realise we were getting!

Brabham
By suzanne - canada, 04 Apr 2011
Great weekend and a terrific experience.
My only beef was that the jumbo tron was far from the seats so my kangaroo tv was a must for full race enjoyment!
Great service from book F1!

One of the best!!

4 Corner - Jones
By Bill and Diana Stevenson, 03 Apr 2011
What an amazing 4 day event in Melbourne, it was simply by far the best organised F1 we have ever been to and it was just about impossible to get lost as everywhere was so clearly signposted, add to this the fact that all the people working there also knew how to direct you to even the most out of the way places. The cleanliness was also incredible only spoilt at the end of the F1 race by the spectators leaving their rubbish strewn around the stand floors when there were ample bins available close by. The prices of food and drinks were quite reasonable and most of the food on offer was well cooked and tasty. Transport to the track was made easy on the trams and even leaving the crowd was well behaved and courteous to one another. The only down side for us on the weekend, apart from Mark's disappointing race, was the autograph stage when GPtv took that time to conduct interviews with the drivers whilst they were signing autographs etc, this meant the drivers had little or no chance to acknowledge the fans who waited in cold, wet conditions for hours to meet them - really bad PR on their part. There's much debate amongst Melburnians as to whether the Grand Prix should stay at Albert Park, they constantly compare F1 with AFL when really there is absolutely no comparison at all. AFL is largely restricted to an Australian audience whilst F1 advertises Melbourne to the world, given their excellent planning this particular stage of the F1 puts many of the European circuits to shame and Melbourne should be proud to be hosts to this race.

Never again!

Schumacher
By Mr Mrs Guyatt, 02 Apr 2011
Rubbish, never again, whole experiance trashed by putting a rock band next to the Schumacher stand, and with speakers on full we missed the sound of the cars the commentory so the whole thing was ruined never again spent so much money flights etc even the one minutes silence was missed by many a (national discrace) as they couldn't hear it anounced, at one time the speakers broke down and there was a load cheer from thousands of people but they came back on in seconds then there were boos, Disorganised Chaos.
