Excellent!

Everything was excellent except by the facilities of food in the F1 village, little and expensive. The organization for parking really perfect

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

For a first grand prix, I thought this went remarkably well. The seats were comfy and spacious, there were no "Silverstone" 30ft high fences blocking views, parking was adequate, access from the parking worked well from the red car park to the north stand (I know others had difficulties with using buses to get from more distant car parks). The catering facilites were limited and there were severe restrictions in place on bringing food into the circuit. Its worthwhile considering the position of the sun when choosing a seat - I'm used to the heat but even so half of the north stand was in sun light all day and and a result remined empty till the main event. The new Yas hotel is amazing (good deals available now!) and there are 7 (I think) other hotels in the vicinity. The journey from central AD is not a porblem - the new Sadyiat highway works well and I was in the circuit within 45 mins of central AD. Taxis could only go so far, however, and a friend had a nighmare getting home on the Park and Ride buses.

4 day ticket

Extremely enjoyable with excellent seats. Unfortunately as circuit just opened & run by volunteers transport & directions for first three days were shambolic. All hotels fully booked so not possible to get an extra night. Most agencies were busing in guests from Dubai due to shortage of hotels. Otherwise to be recommended

Cracking first event in Abu Dhabi

The view that we had from Pit Support Stand was awesome. We could see a huge amount of the circuit, really thrilling.
We got to and from the circuit extremely easily. We travelled by car, had a parking pass, and the parking was extremely well organised. We left the circuit after the race, and were back in Abu Dhabi having a drink an hour later! No queues to leave the car park, no queues on the motorway (which was built specially) and opened only a few weeks prior to the race. The UK has been hosting GPs for years and have never come anywhere near to this level of organisation! We could learn a lot.
Small down side on qually day - the catering. Badly organised, and as no food was allowed in to the circuit, caused quite a problem. Mostly solved by race day though.

Great grand prix!!!!

First Abu Dhabi grand prix was excellent! The south stand we were in had a great view accross the marina and towards the hotel. There was a great atmosphere
Facilities at the circuit a little lacking - the bar was in a maintenance room but at least there was one. Toilets were a bit small. And they were telling people to get the lifts to the 4th floor and there was only two in each section which were very in demand.
The concerts afterwards would not allow any cameras in! Worringly they had to be left in a hut with a tag on it. Did not think I would see it again! After it took me 90 minutes to get mine back!
Access to circuit was pretty easy - parking was all smooth and easy marked with plenty of buses to get to the stands. Afterwards it was a little more choatic but still worked not too bad. Also plenty of resonable price taxis. One back to Dubai cost only 150 AED - about £25

Without doubt the best organised event in the Emirates in the 3 years that I have lived here. Surpassing the Rugby 7s, Tennis and Horse racing at all levels.

West Stand proved to be excellent with the corner on the end of the fast straight claiming several cars as well as great views of the start line.

What a fantastic weekend!!!!
Only issue we had was the disorganisation for the car parks on Thursday, no one seemed to know where to direct us, and there was a lot of complaints from other spectators, but by the Friday there was a completely different story, the whole event was totally organized

Awesome Abu Dhabi

Just returned from the Abu Dhabi GP, it was an awesome experience. You could see a large portion of the track from the South Grandstand and they twilight experience was super! Even though this was the first time for Abu Dhabi, the facilities were excellent. No long lines to get on board the shuttle buses even after the race. Food was disappointing, very few counters, but then the same case was there in Singapore last year. So like Singapore I think next year this will be better. Free water and earplugs were handed out to all at the parking. Nice gesture. All in all, an excellent track. Well done Abu Dhabi.

The only disappointment was with the F & B. It was poor, not enough and only one cashier available resulting in long queues under the sun. I recommend you have far more casual stalls and dispensers in the stands themselves selling sandwiches, ice creams, chocoloates and soft drinks. the more you have, the more you would sell and would avoid queues.

Yas Sir, That's my baby !

Dad and Lad had a great time and to find faults with this first-time effort would be churlish.
Strangers to the UAE would have struggled with the lack of taxis, out from the City. This is not caused by the event weekend or a shortage of cars; it's a shortage of taxi drivers that's the issue here.
At the track itself, the logistics were great - three cheers to all the volunteers and service staff.
Well done Abu Dhabi - spectacular in every way.
