canadian grandprix

, 04 Aug 2010
By Jon Connelly
I thought Book F! did an excellent job with ticket selection. I had a seat on the aisle within the top 5 rows of the grandstand in section 11. The view was excellent from the starting grid all the way down and out of turn 3.

The only negative on the weekend was the limited access to the track through public transportation. The subway was overwhelmed with people trying to leave the event. It took me over 4 hours to exit the track and get back to downtown Montreal.

Any information about a utilizing the ferry from old montreal would have been very useful up front and could have saved me considerable time entering and exiting the event all weekend.

The big screen across the grand stands was not really very big and it was hard to follow the race! Other than that I had a great weekend.

Book F1 were extremely helpful, even when US customs lost my friends tickets.

Would advise not to go General Admission as access is very poor.

F1 Montreal 2010

, 04 Jul 2010
By Robin from Nelson BC
Over all we had a good time, but there was too much second hand smoke. We went to Silverstone England last year and there was 'no smoking' in the grandstands and very little walking around the disply booth.
I believe F1 could recommend no smoking in stands and have designated smoking areas
Prices were high for food and pop, $4.50 for a Coke was way too much......
But the weather was great and we had a good time

Over all it was a good experience, although breathing second hand smoke was a problem. Expecially in the stands. We attended Silverstone last year and there was no smoking in the stands and very little walking around the display booths.
I believe F1 could have input on smoking and recommend no smoking in stands and have designated smoking areas.
Prices for pop, etc were very high, $4.50 for a bottle of Coke was way too much. . . .
thanks

Seating

The organisation at the circuit was very good and I was impressed on how quickly the spectators manged to be dispersed. The only thing I was disappointed in was that we were unable to choose seats within the ticket type. I think it would be fair if you book early you should get this advantage.

It was good my first time to F1 and my friend as well. General Admission tickets are fine , but next time i will go to the stands. You barely can see from the ground the cars, but definitely can hear them....wow it's crazy you cand stand 5 min. even with ear plugs!!! The city Montreal is Great!

Canadian Grand Prix 2010 - Welcome back!

, 26 Jun 2010
By Trace1
So pleased this race is back in the calendar! When I've gone to races in the past I usually only go to the main Sunday race but this time I bought a 3 day ticket which was fantastic. There was so much going on at the track every day.

The view from our stand (Gold 2) was superb. Our seats overlooked the starting grid (roughly position 14/15) and we had a clear view of the pits. It was really easy to get to the track and the set up/amenities were first class.

Top Tips
For anyone booking this stand next year - it is one of the furthest away so allow a little extra time to get there. There is a roughly a 20 min walk when you come out of the metro station.

Accommodation - stay around the Latin Quarter in Montreal. The track is only one stop on the Metro from there.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Canada (made all the better by Lewis winning!!) and as usual the customer service from BookF1.com was great.

Bring sunscreen and a hat. Take your own food or you'll be stuck eating hotdogs and burgers.

Great Place. Old Montreal is terrific. The track is great however general admission offers very little veing areas. If you go, buy grandstand tickets!

Had a great time in Canada, they really do the GP in style closing down a street in downtown. Access to the track couldn't have been easier or cheaper and the results topped off a fantastic weekend

Seating is better but has doubled in price

, 22 Jun 2010
By Al Romano
Been going to F1 Canada for 15 years. It is a great experience, both the race and the Montreal experience. General admission tickets provide very little view of the race but are inexpensive. Seats are always better for viewing but have become extremely expensive. Still, it's an experience you don't want miss if you are an F1 fan. Don't stay at the Royal Versailles Hotel...car was broken into for the GPS... $1200.00 dollars damage and the hotel management/owner could care less. Found out several others had the same experience there. Stay Away!!

Canadian Grand Prix 2010

, 20 Jun 2010

A fantasitc race weekend.
We took both our sons - their first time at a Grand Prix and we couldn't have picked a better experience. Canada far outstripped Indianapolis and even Silverstone!
Travel to the circuit was via metro and was well signed, serviced and marshalled all over the weekend - so easy.
The pit lanes opened Thursday morning free to the public and we had a great time watching the cars being set up, sitting on the pit walls and getting autographs from the drivers.
There were loads of alternative racing going on in between the F1 practise and qualifying.
