Australian grand prix

, 07 Apr 2010
By karen wallace
we had a fantastic day at the grand prix and got lucky with our view of turn 2 and we could see the big screen. Best to get there early though to get yourself a good spot if you have general admission tickets. It was really easy to get to the crcuit on the trams and very well organised from start to finish. The day was even better because of the rain which made the race more exciting and of course since Button won!!!

Australia 2010 Buttons Day

, 04 Apr 2010
By Adrian
The whole weekend was a brilliant experience especially seeing Jenson get his first win of the season. There is a really friendly atmosphere and the Aussies make you feel so welcome. The only downside to the weekend was that by the time I purchased my ticket, my fault, there were only General Admission tickets left and this is not, I discovered, the best way to see the race at this circuit. Visibility of the track, unlike purpose built circuits, is severely obstructed by the safety fence and except for the Stands there are few high points which allow you to see over this. I would recommend anyone planning on going to this race next year purchases a Stand ticket, it will be worth the extra £, especially if you want photographs were you can see the cars more than the fence.

Bruce - Londonderry

Great race, the weather played an important part in a very exciting round. Track very easy to access and leave. Facilities in the GP Advantage area were excellent. Only downside was due to the weak pound, cost of on-track clothing was very very expensive.

Good

It was a good weekend though if we had known that we were to get access to driver interviews on the Wednesday at the time of booking we would have arranged our flights to be there instead of arriving on the Thursday

What a super race

, 30 Mar 2010

I have not booked grand prix tickets before, so i was a little nervous about doing so. I needen't have been. The info on the site and the emails I have received from this site's support team have been excellent. I have also booked Chinese GP tickets which i hope to collect from my hotel in Shanghai. I would urge anyone who wants the buzz of an f1 gp to use this site after my experience.

Signs, seats, musicians & transport.

, 30 Mar 2010
By Mary Cockerell
Overall a fantastic & enjoyable weekend. Just a few suggestions/observations:
Thurs & Fri signage at tramstops for gates was difficult to find. No announcements made inside the tram - we needed to ask the tram driver for information. Sat & Sun were very good with excellent information & signage.
Prost stand seating uncomfortable - narrow seats. No allowance made for large people!! Perhaps tickets & seating for obese patrons could be provided at exta cost? In other words provide the option for larger seating.
The concert musicians were extremely disrespectful of both patrons & drivers with their extremely loud testing/music prep DURING the qualifying sessions on Sat afternoon! How dare they! They can tune & practice when there is nothing happening trackside. Their attitude was disgraceful & no officials stopped them.
Public transport to & from the Albert Park venue was excellent. Large crowds were moved quite quickly & with good humour. Brilliant!!

Would certainly benefit the track more if they had more TV screens located around the track to assist general admission ticket holders to access the coverage. Food/Beverage service was very good.

Going down under for the 1st Time.

, 17 Apr 2009
By Lee
Going to our first Grand Prix was an absolutely brilliant experience with the weather, the friendly crowd, and the entertainment adding to a great climax when all cars converged on the 1st corner at the start of the 1st race of the season. We arrived by taxi to the event for ease but plenty of transport was provided even by Harley Davidson motorbikes if you wanted. We had an added bonus of watching over 20 ferraris of all kinds and the occasional Lambourghini cruise up and down Lygon st in the CBD on the Saturday night. What more can i say!! A fabulous time was had by all the family.

How to organise a race meeting.

, 15 Apr 2009
By Sam and Jenny, very happy spectators. Go Jenson
We had ADVANTAGE tickets through Book F1 and only found out how good these were when we arrived in Melbourne. We did not know but they alowed you a visit behind the scenes on the Wednesday before the main event started on the Thursday, we missed this opportunity, only finding out the day after from others with advantage tickets. We also had private bar areas at the side of the track at each end of the main pit strait stand, Fangio. These were invaluable for getting some shade and we whatched the end of saturday qualifying from this area, absolutely brilliant. The park is spacious with picnic areas if you take your own refreshments but the food and drink supplied at the circuit were excellent and very reasonably priced with no huge queues, nothing like a british event then.Special trams to and from the city meant that we saw qualifying that finished at 6.00pm, at the tram stop at 6.10, in the city at 6.20 and the hotel at 6.30. Brilliant organisation with helpful friendly people,We cannot praise it highly enough, eat your heart out Silverstone.

Australian Grand Prix

, 14 Apr 2009
By Lizzie
We had an expensive seat as it was the only one that was a covered stand. There was a very small cover to the stand but it did not protect the seats at all so we were in full sun at all times and because there was a 'cover' it actually did not allow the breeze through so it was just like sitting in an oven. Also because the Prost Premium is right at the back of the stand and quite a long way from the tv screen it was impossible to see any of the times etc. So a big disappointment. Also there was virtually no shade at all anywhere on the site unless you were lucky enough to grab the odd seat under a food/beer parasol.

sunburnt in aussie

, 11 Apr 2009
By brogan
all seating have not got any form of viewing (not like stowe at silverstone) but at least there are decent big screens. transport from melbourne is free, frequent and reliable and straight into the circuit. food around the circuit was fair, not hot, but varied, and you need a bank loan for a pint of beer! BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY. ps dont forget your sun screen!!!!!!!!
